Default Favorite Friday the 13th Sequel

What is everyone's favorite sequel to the iconic 1980 horror film Friday the 13th? I'm only including the original 7 produced by Paramount Pictures and not the several films put out by New Line Cinema or the remake. With the exception of A New Beginning, I like all the sequels but my favorite would be a toss up between Part 3 and The Final Chapter. I'm going to go with Part 3 as I love the character of Chris, played by Dana Kimmell, so much.

I remember liking The Final Chapter the most. So I guess I'll go with that.

A New Beginning has always been my favorite, yep, imposter Jason and all. I love the characters, the setting, the sleazy feel that director Danny Steinman brought to it.

Closely followed by 2, 3, and The Final Chapter. After A New Beginning, I think the series went down hill, parts 6 and 7 are watchable. Jason Takes Manhattan should have been titled Jason Goes On A Cruise. Jason Goes To Hell was a mess, suddenly Jason has a sister, Mrs. Vorhees was into the occult. Jason X might have been fun, but I just can't get past the horrendously annoying female android.

I did enjoy Freddy VS Jason.

I like Jason Lives quite a bit. I like the humor and Jennifer Cooke as Megan is awesome. New Blood is good. Lar Park Lincoln and the character of Tina had a lot to do with that. Jason Takes Manhattan is very underrated, I think. I love Jensen Dagget and I've always liked horror stories on ships.

I went w/ The Final Chapter, but I also enjoy A New Beginning. I saw it again fairly recently and I liked it a lot. The kid getting axed over a candy bar, the robot dance.. lol

I'd go with Part 3. I also really enjoyed Dana Kimmell in it.

I like The Final Chapter and Jason Takes Manhattan a lot, as well. The one I could not stand is The New Blood. That film is a complete train wreck.

I have met three Jason's so far throughout the years at various cons.

Steve Dash from Friday the 13th Part 2 (Masked)

I had a pretty good chat w/ him. I asked him how it was working w/ a bag over his head and he said it was "very hot" and that he was glad to take the thing off after shooting.

He also said he had to be extra careful during the stunts since it was hard for him to see what he was doing w/ one eyehole.

He signs everything "The Real Jason" since he feels he's not really recognized for his work and that he's not seen (his face) in the film.

Warrington Gillette from Friday the 13th Part 2 (Unmasked)

I also had a nice chat w/ him. I asked him how he got the part and he said he was nineteen at the time and that he was "trying out for one of the counselors."

He said that the producers were looking for people who could take long hours of make-up and he felt that it was "really cool to play Jason."

He also gave me a collector's card that he signed for free:

Kane Hodder from 7, 8, 9 and X

I didn't get to talk to Kane Hodder since he had a huge crowd. I met him at a con that was around the time Jason X first came out.

It was pretty much "hello", sign and keep moving.

Awesome autographs and that you got to meet them!

It's too bad you didn't get to chat with Kane Hodder. He's a really nice guy. I've never heard of anyone having an unpleasant experience with him. He's become friends with the people who do the annual horror convention here, so it's pretty much guaranteed that he will be at every show. He's already been announced for the show in April, lol.

Lar Park is the main reason I think New Blood is watchable, I also think it's the best look for Jason.

Jason Takes Manhattan had potential, and when Jason finally does get to the Big Apple they just didn't take advantage of the location. Then came the ludicrous sewer scene.

But hey, I've seen every film in the franchise on the big screen going all the way back to the original, and even got to see part 3 in 3D, and I still have the glasses somewhere. So even if I don't like particular films in the series, I'm always going to have a place in my heart for them.

The kid that gets axed over the candy bar directed a slasher film- Evil Laugh (1986) which he co wrote with Scott Baio's brother Steven.

And let's not forget the aptly named Debi Sue Voorhees

Oh, and the best screamer in the franchise- Shavar Ross.

Yeah, it was a big crowd at the time being that Jason X was the latest "Jason" movie in 8 years since Jason Goes to Hell back in 1993.

I don't think he gathers that much of a crowd today. I have heard he's cool in person.

The majority of the film was filmed in Vancouver and not in NYC, which didn't help.

I still really like the movie.

Part 4 was my favorite with Corey Feldman, followed by part 5 with the hillbillies.
