TV Dann Florek is Leaving "SVU"

"Law & Order" Vet Dann Florek to Exit "SVU"
by Vlada Gelman
12/10/13

The "Law & Order: SVU" ranks continue to thin. Dann Florek, who plays Captain Donald Cragen, is leaving the veteran NBC drama this season.

The actor announced via Twitter that last Friday was his final day of filming after 15 seasons on the "L&O" spin-off. "Friday was the last day 4 Cragen/Florek. It was a sweet send off! But he'll live on in syndication land 4 evah!"

I'm done with this show. First Stabler, then Munch, and now Cragen gone.

All we're left with is Liv and Fin and a bunch of boring new characters (except for Cassidy who's recurring and Rollins who I actually like)

This has to be the last season. Unless they turn it over to Pino and Giddish, and it will tank in no time.

I know. Like I said. I like Giddish. But, I cannot stand Danny Pino's character at all. He's like a watered down Stabler.

Also. I hate ADA Barba. I mean HATE him. He's the most annoying ADA they ever had and he cannot win a case to save his life.

I haven't watched the show since Stabler left.

Wow, quite a departure. I enjoy his character. I wonder if he's leaving on his own or being pushed out.

I think everyone is bailing from a sinking ship. But I believe some cast shakeups are happening. If the show is to continue, it has to undergo changes. But the additions of Pino and Giddish have done little, if anything, to help.

I think they should have Olivia have a family life. Have her meet and fall in love, have a child or two. Perhaps she could adopt a child who is orphaned in one of her cases. I think it's time.

Belzer and Florek are probably leaving L&O:SVU because their respective characters (Munch and Cragen) were reaching the NYPD's mandatory retirement age (63).

L&O:SVU should be one of those series that people have to stick by through worse, especially with The Simpsons's refusal to end as a first-run series.
