No, besides that. The Honeymooners, Father Knows Best, and I Love Lucy are also in black and white, and are sitcoms from the '50s, but do not share what these other shows have in common.

Does it have anything to do with show announcers or background music?

Bob LeMond was the Leave It to Beaver cast announcer and worked on the I Love Lucy pilot intro, I understand. Also heard some of the same "stock" background music was used on Burns and Allen along with Beaver.
Do you have more tidbits? Please share! |

Something I find a little interesting is that on LITB, at least during first or second seasons, sometimes the background music they use is the main theme music for Bachelor Father. I've noticed, also, that December Bride uses some of the incidental music developed for I Love Lucy (both, of course, were Desilu shows). And The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Bob Newhart Show (both MTM productions) also share some incidental music. And speaking of the later two, there was a brief scene once on TMTMS where Mary is on an elevator. When the doors open briefly, I could swear that's the same elevator to Bob Hartley's office! |
