Default AC/DC

Looking for some advice. I've been an AC/DC fan for about 20 years but never got around to buying 2 of their albums, Powerage and Flip the Switch. I have all the rest including the very underrated Fly On the Wall. Does anyone think Powerage and Flick the Switch are worth getting? Thanks.

I havent heard those....... My favourite is BACK IN BLACK

I just took out my back in black record tonight again and on the back it has the songs listed (THEY ARENT IN ORDER THEY JUST LIST ALL OF THEM) and someone wrote #s on the album cover for where they are on the record AND THEY ARE STUPID!!!!!!

They put a #1 next to "BACK IN BLACK" and a #2 next to "You shook me all night long" when #1 is really "HELLS BELLS" and #2 is "SHOOT TO THRILL"!!

I dunno what they were smoking but it definetly wasnt cigerettes!!

Cool

'Powerage' was their 1978 album preceding their live 'If You Want Blood, You've Got It' record which came out later that year. 'Powerage' is rather raw and simple, with great songs such as "Sin City", "Rock and Roll Damnation", "Gone Shooting", "Down Payment Blues", and "Riff Raff". The raw production was disappointing to most in the record company, and in order for the band to make a foothold in America, they had to find a more "polished" producer who could get the best sound out of them in order to make them more commercial. They had used their brother George Young and a co-producer, last name Vanda for their first several albums, but they had a hard time choosing a more successful producer until they came across Mutt Lange, who brought them their badly needed breakthrough with 'Highway To Hell' in 1979, their last with Bon Scott, who died of an alcohol overdose in 1980.

'Flick Of the Switch', from 1983, was a good album, but, though the band had been successful with 'Back In Black' and 'For Those About To Rock' by that time, the band had adopted a sort of "if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it" approach to songwriting. The band's songs, "This House Is On Fire", "Nervous Shakedown", "Guns For Hire", and the title track, were consistently good, but they were not really breaking new ground for a while. Their tours were still a huge draw, however.

I never got why people thought the band stood for "Anti-Christ, Devi's Child", and were to blame for inspiring Richard Ramirez to kill people in L.A. (never mind that Ramirez was mentally ill).

^^^ Ridiculous.

AC/DC is the brand name of Angus and Malcolm Young's sister's sewing machine.

AC/DC is named after a sewing machine.

ac/dc is an acronym for "alternating current or direct current", meaning that the device can be plugged into a wall for power (AC) or run off of battery power (DC).

some people just see demons in anything that they don't like or understand.
