Madderest Three Reasons why I won't be shopping on Black Friday

1. Ill be in the boondocks in N.E. Georgia Visiting Cousins, there won't be any stores to go to within a 50 mile radius.

2. Nothing I've seen in the flyers I previewed turns me on. I either have it or it just not my cup of tea.

And the Big One:

Corporate Greed has RUINEDIt.

I used to look forward to this day as much as Thanksgiving and Christmas. On Thanksgiving I'd look at all the flyers, then plotted my "Attack" a number of years JC Penney Wast the first (I'd get the snowglobe they used to give away, I'd then hit the other stores (Including Best Buy, Target Circuit (when they were still open) and then go to Sam's Club and partake the Free Breakfast they offered. I even got a kick when two years ago the stores had "Midnight Madness. I jokingly called it "The National Day of INSANITY" because this was the one day where you could see people doing things that any other day of the year nobody in their right mind would even think about doing any other time of the year. But unfortunately It has gotten out WAY out of hand. It just isn't fun anymore, with more stores opening on Thanksgiving every day. JC Penney no longer gives away Snowglobes.: What I missed out on getting a "Hot" item for pennies on the dollars? relax, in a few months it will likely be in the same store's "Bargain Bin". And with that I wish all of you a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.

I won't be shopping either as I work 8:00 Thanksgiving night until 3 in the morning on Black Friday. Afterwards, I will go home and sleep.

I will be working too unless I win the lottery. And if I did have Friday off I still would not be out shopping.

Oh No

I'm basically too broke to go shopping on Friday.

Black Friday can be fun to shop if you do it low key. Bed Bath and Beyond usually has a 20% off coupon for everything you buy on Black Friday. Best Buy usually has some great DVDs on sale. A paint studio I like runs a great special on Black Friday. Those are some examples of the way I save on Black Friday, and these places don't get crazy for these items. What I DON'T shop for are electronics - that 's where the mob scenes tend to be.

But I also get not wanting to be bothered with Black Friday at all.

I have Friday off so, I'll plan to stay home and relax. I tend to buy my gifts online or go shopping after work.

I kept seeing people mentioning this website on news message boards so I googled it. Someone is actually keeping track of Black Friday disasters.

It was 13 degrees outside last night and some guy was all by himself wrapped in a blanket sleeping in front of a store waiting for it to open.
I gave up trying to figure people out a long time ago.

I went to Best Buy today (Black Friday) and it was packed, but worth it for me. I had to wait an hour just to get in the store.

$60.00 TV seasons on DVD/Blu-ray for $25.00, $20.00 music albums for $7.00, $50.00 PS3 games for $20.00 ... I got tons of stuff.

I also had about $50.00 worth in gift cards.

Well, like I planned it, my BlackFriday was low key. At Bed, Bath and Beyond I used my 20% off coupon and bought all my toiletries for the next 5-6 months and a lot of Atkins bars. At Best Buy I bought 40 of the DVDs on sale for $1.99--some decent films too--Along Came Mary, Field Of Dreams, Hoosiers,Bull Durham--to name a few. I'm going to donate them to a charity for their clients. And took advantage of the free studio time at a place where I paint.

What I'd never do is wait in line for hours for some electronic gadget. The aggravation and crazy crowds for that kind of item isn't worth it to me.
