Default Jealous Robert

Don't get me wrong, I like this episode but I had to bring up a point. I'm not a huge fan of Ray because I find him quite stupid as a husband, but because Debra didn't want him ratting her and Marie out to Robert that they planned the Amy and Gianna match up to make him jealous she had to hit him several times in the family jewels. I find that vile and could NEVER do that to my husband no matter what he had done or said. The only way a woman should use that move is in self defense of physical harm and my point is that people would be all up in arms if they see a man beat on a woman in shows, but they laugh when a woman abuses a man. Very hypocritical. I know it's just a show, but just had to make that point. Sometimes I feel Debra should be slapped too.

I wholeheartedly agree. I love this show, because of the conflict between the family members. Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle especially really nailed their characters.

But if a woman did that to me (without cause, as was this case), I believe I would retaliate physically. Raymond is very inconsiderate; Debra is always yelling. I would not put up with someone yelling at me like that all the time. I kind of wish Raymond had hauled off and slapped her a good one after she hit him--and she had hit him not once, but TWICE.

The scheming and manipulation of Marie and Debra in this episode is especially reprehensible. When Robert announces he's going to propose to Amy, Debra and Marie start yelling with joy and high five-ing each other...not because Robert is getting married, but because he's marrying the woman THEY WERE BACKING all along. It's like these two women have to have their way ALL THE TIME.

I love the Cheers episode in which Diane slaps Sam and he immediately slaps her back. She says something like, "You're not supposed to do that" and slaps him again and he slaps her again, and they keep slapping each other. Who does she think she is, that she's entitled to slap him without any consequences? The idea that a woman can strike a man with impunity for any reason is a double standard that is unacceptable in today's society.

I'm glad there are women out there like you who see the double standard.

I'm glad that Raymond laid into Debra and his mom. When Robert saw Amy getting ready to leave with Raymond's best friend, I wanted to jump through the screen and say, "See what you two have done?" If Raymond's best friend had learned about what them two ladies were up to, I know that he would have felt like he was being used. That is how I would have felt if someone were to put in that type of situation.

God bless you always!!!
