Default Murder She Wrote

Great series Thasnks to A&E I get to watch it each day. But too often same actors are used for different roles. Mike Connors was killed on the way to LA but reappears as as a Hollywood producer. The second sheriff in Cabot Cove was once an owner of a discount store in NEw York. Here is a show that should never have been cancelled. I love Angela. I saw her as Mame at the Wintergarden

Yeah, I liked that show a lot. The same actors... Hmm, true enough. But they were good actors, and the show lasted so many years that it's not surprising that they were used time and again.

The one thing I didn't much like was that one season where Angela Lansbury was only on part-time. They had several episodes that featured other "detectives" and Jessica only appeared at the beginning and end of the program. While some of those episodes were good (I especially liked Diana Canova), they were not Murder, She Wrote.

LOL, that is true. My fav actor Martin Milner was in 5 different episodes, but they were all very good. If they'd just show the one I don't have...

Wink

I agree. Top-notch mystery series. But, in regard to the character actors, that's similar to Star Trek (counting all the series together). No problem there.

I read on imdb.com that the role of Jessica Fletcher was originally offered to Jean Stapleton but she turned it down. Can you imagine her as Jessica Fletcher? What do you think it would have been like if she didn't turn down the role?

It would probably be less funny. It just wouldn't be the same without Angela Lansbury and her accent and laugh and smile the list can go on and on and on.....

Angela Lansbury was the only thing that made the show watchable.
