Default Question for anyone who had a chance to watch the..

continuation.....ABP

Is it as watchable as AITF? Or did it only have good ratings because of Carroll OConnor and the time slot?

Archie Bunker's Place wasn't a spinoff, it was a continuation.

I liked the show. It wasn't as good as AITF though but it was very watchable to me.

you never saw it, Sol?

I didn't think it was as good or as funny as AITF, but it was watchable.

I started watching yesterday and so far in season 1 I can see some differences

1. Stephanie has a lot of mouth
2. Archie is more mellow
3. Murray is the straight man for Stephanie, Edith, and Archie

I liked ABP but LOVED AITF. When Jean Stapleton left the show, she left a big hole. R.I.P. Jean!

Regarding a lot of mouth, Veronica the cook wins that category hands down. It was a fine entertaining show but....how do you follow....or hold your own with AITF. You can't!

They have the Stephanie character being disrespectful and using words like HOOKER.

Was she like this on season 9 of AITF?

No, The way I remember things in AITF she was dealing with being left with the Bunkers. Archie kept after Edith about shipping her to other family but Edith seen the need and Mothered Stephanie. Archie did come around and accepted her into the family. She seemed spunky not mouthy.

After 7 episodes in season 1 of ABP she had no respect for Archie and does not take him seriously. Edith is barely around and he is taking care of her alone and she just mouths off and says whatever she wants

yea, watching it without Edith was sort of like watching the last season of BONANZA. It just wasn't the same without Hoss.
