I agree, I don't think she only came back for the money. I do absolutely believe she did have issues and hadn't seen her family for years, but I have to wonder what kind of touch they kept in from that segment until she passed away.
What I could never figure out is, did she go home with all that money and go back to fairly low-income conditions? I think they said she was working for just room and board. With that kind of money, I'd hope she would have improved her circumstances somewhat. She didn't sound like she had the easiest or happiest life, nor did she seem terribly well-educated. |

Just watched this and enjoyed the re-enactment especially the military guy Lorene married
