TV Carlos PenaVega To Host Nickelodeon's "Webheads"

Ryan Seacrest Sells Kids Game Show to Nickelodeon (Exclusive)
11/13/13
by Lacey Rose

Ryan Seacrest is adding Nickelodeon producer to his resume. His Ryan Seacrest Productions has sold 40 episodes of a game show tentatively titled "Go Viral" to the children's network.

The half-hour, studio-based series will feature kid contestants as they compete in elimination challenges revolving around viral videos. Each round will test kids on these laugh-out-loud videos – from predicting outcomes to guessing their popularity as voted by the studio audience.

We’re excited to be working with Ryan Seacrest Productions on this show that captures pop culture in a fun way for kids,” said Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon’s president of content development and production.

Nickelodeon has an undeniable track record in producing hit game shows and we are adapting the format to reflect the way kids consume content today.

Added RSP CEO Adam Sher: “Everyone at RSP worked hard to develop a new game show that showcases the way kids consume entertainment today. It’s our first series with Nickelodeon, and we’re excited to work with their team, and contribute to their legacy of making groundbreaking kids programming.

Production on "Go Viral" is set to begin early next year in Los Angeles, with Nickelodeon brass aiming for a summer 2014 launch. Seacrest and Sher will serve as executive producers on the the series.

Great now the first kids network wants to have their own version of "Viral Video Showdown" next thing you know that their going to have their own version of "@Midnight".

I mean these people have cancelled Stuphen's Figure It Out (it's ok but not as great as the original Sanders version) for this crap?

Nickelodeon's Viral Game Show from Ryan Seacrest Lands Host (Exclusive)
3/27/14
by Philiana Ng

Nickelodeon's Ryan Seacrest-backed game show has found its host.

"Big Time Rush" alum Carlos PenaVega has been tapped to lead the new competition series, which revolves around child contestants competing in challenges centered on viral videos, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

The 40-episode, half-hour summer game show, formerly titled "Go Viral", will now be called "Webheads".

"I grew up on Nickelodeon game shows and always dreamed of being a contestant,” said PenaVega in a statement to THR. "I'm excited to be doing something fun and unique that captures the heart and slime of Nick."

From Ryan Seacrest Productions, "Webheads" is executive produced by Seacrest and Adam Sher.

The gig keeps PenaVega in the Nickelodeon family, where he was a lead in the music comedy series "Big Time Rush" from 2009 to 2013.

PenaVega recently wrapped production on the indie La Vida Robot, based on a Wired article about four undocumented Mexican-American high school students who form a robotics club and compete against MIT in a national robotics competition.

I Think Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth said this best about Nick's upcoming viral video competition series among the idiotic game show ideas for the millennium:
