I have a TiVo and I love it. It is $19.99 a month which is cheaper than a DVR from my cable company, plus it works with an antenna if you don't have cable. It also provides access to netflix, youtube, hulu, etc.

will they work with digital cable? So I can record shows from ME-TV, ANTENNA TV and ENCORE WESTERNS?

Yes, if you have cable you have to get a cable card from your cable company and install it. There is a slot in the back of the TiVo for the card. Then you can get all of your digital and HD channels.
