Cinemax Sets "Strike Back's" Delayed Final Run for 2015
by Matt Webb Mitovich
July 10, 2014

Cinemax is officially slotting "Strike Back‘s" delayed fourth and final season for sometime in 2015, the cabler disclosed on Thursday at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour.

Typically the high-octane action-drama fires off its new episodes in August, but production on Season 4 was paused for six months when series star Sullivan Stapleton, who plays Sgt. Damien Scott, sustained a serious, injury off-set in February.

Stapleton needed the time to recuperate and return to the peak physical condition needed for the action- and stunt-heavy drama.

Cinemax Slots "Strike Back" for Summer, Reveals Details on Final Season
by Matt Webb Mitovich
January 8, 2015

Holding court at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Thursday, Cinemax threw "Strike Back" fans a bone by narrowing the premiere date for the delayed fourth and final season down to “summer 2015.

The high-octane action-drama typically fires off its new episodes in the summer, but production on Season 4 was paused for six months when series star Sullivan Stapleton, who plays Sgt. Damien Scott, sustained a serious, injury off-set in February 2014.

The pay cabler also released the logline for the final season, including casting details:

"Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) and Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester), along with the rest of Section 20, are enlisted to crack a missing-persons case in Bangkok.

This elite undercover unit of British intelligence quickly realizes that what seems on the surface to be a simple kidnapping is actually the first step in a massive terrorist plot with global implications.

Scott, Stonebridge and the team crisscross Asia and Europe, battling Japanese Yakuza, Russian Mafia, cyberterrorists, elite mercenaries and other deadly forces.

Series regulars Robson Green, Michelle Lukes and Milauna Jackson also return for the season; new cast members include Michelle Yeoh, Will Yun Lee, Dustin Clare, Max Beesley and Michael McElhatton.

Thanks James G!

Looks like the producers are going all out on the final season. I like the worldwide travel and the "strikes backs team" battling Japanese Yakuza, Russian Mafia, cyber terrorists, elite mercenaries and other deadly forces.

I am hoping for another season so that will get syndication. Either case; I will be purchase the entire series eventually on DVD!

Love the action and the weapons on Strike Back!

I need more of my "Strike Back" fix! I just finished Season 2 on DVD and it was great. I also recently ordered Chris Ryan's book that the show is based on.

I saw that Season 3 is due for home release in June and the final season is set for the summer (no official date as of yet).
