The one set of 'grandparent's I had that I was in touch with were my great-grandparents. I called them Grandpa and Grandma. They died in 1990 and 1994. Seems like so long ago.

Unfortunately, the only grandparent I ever knew died when I was three years old (I have VERY dim memories of being scared of her), so I never got the chance to call them anything.

I'm sorry to hear that. Being that young it must be hard to remember her.

we used to call my fathers parents "Grandmother" & "Pop-Pop" and we called my mothers parents "Nana" & "cal" Yes, I know that sounds funny but it started years ago, when my older brother was just starting to talk (he's 57 now). There last name was CALHOUN and every time my brother saw him he would call him "Cal"

It was Gamma and Poppa when I was really little then I called them Grandma and Grandpa. For my 2 year old niece it's Nana and Poppa.

I knew 3 of my Grandparents. I called them grandpa and Grandma. My Paternal Grandpa died when I was 7. My Grandmother's both died in the 1990's and were in their 90's. I never knew my Maternal Grandfather. He died in 1952 in his 50's of a heart attack. He was in WW1. I still remember a large photo my Grandma had of him on the wall over her bed. It was him in his Army uniform.

I called both grandmothers "Grandma." My dad's dad died in 1956, and my mom's dad died in 1964.

Thanks, yes, I have only a very dim memory.

My dad's dad died eight years before I was born, and his mom (the one I recall) died when I was three. She was 88 years old. My dad was 45 when I was born, and I think his parents were both in their 40's when he was born, too, so that's a huge age difference between them and me.

My mom's mom died young, at age 51, three years before I was born. I would have loved to have met her, that's for sure. All my grandparents, really, but I've heard so many great tales about her. My mom's dad abandoned her and ignored the fact that he had me and my brother as grandkids (even after my mom sent him photos), so I never met him. When he died in 1981, my mom told my brother and I who were playing darts in the backyard. We both just kind of looked at each other for a minute, unsure of what to do or how to react, and just continued to play darts. We really didn't feel anything, sadly.

On my mom's side:
Grandma
Granddaddy (He died when I was 3, but that's what my sister and cousin called him)

On my dad's side:
Mom Mom
Pop Pop

* Personally, Mom Mom and Pop Pop have always sounded stupid to me. They should have asked to be called better "names." LOL
