A bold move indeed: "All My Children‘s" Thorsten Kaye has been cast as Ridge Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful", TVLine has confirmed. Kaye replaces Ron Moss, who shocked the soap world last summer when he announced that he was leaving Ridge behind after 25 years.

According to TV Guide Magazine, which broke the news, Kaye will make his "B&B" debut on Dec. 13.

The new gig means that the actor’s "AMC" days are effectively over.

"I don’t have a contract there anymore," Kaye told TVG of the in-limbo soap, which is currently on an indefinite hiatus. "There are a lot of talented and caring people over there and I wish them all luck. And I certainly hope that my leaving will not affect the show in some bad way."

I hear he has a following and is popular, I look forward to seeing him on B&B. I've never been real high on B&B but this is the sort of PR boost the show could use.
