TV 3 FAV eps - and why

This goes out to everyone, but especially Andrea, BingBangBaby, Kristen, Leigh Ann and Andress Jade!

Name your top 3 favorite Frasier episodes and why.

Mine are:

1) And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon - love the scene where Frasier and Martin set up Daphne and Niles' first date.

2) Taking Liberties - This one has almost my first choice. I love how Niles and Daphne are finally together and how Niles finally tells Mel off in front of everybody.

3) It's hard to choose between Guess Who's Coming To Breakfast (Martin's date spent the night and Frasier puts his foot in his mouth every chance he gets) or My Coffee With Niles (Love the set and the dialogs here)

Wow this is really tough because I have a lot of favorite episodes but I will try to narrow it down to just three.

Definitely Dinner at Eight. It's the episode where Niles and Daphne first meet and how Niles falls head over heels in love with her as soon as he lays eyes on her. I just love it.

Something Borrowed, Someone Blue-I like this one because Niles finally confesses to Daphne herself that he loves her and they share their first official kiss. I just love the balcony scene and the scene where Daphne comes to Niles in the Winnebago and calls him "Niles" for the first time. I also have to include when they drive away together. So many great scenes in that episode.

The last one but certainly not least is a tie between The Ring Cycle and Goodnight Seattle. It's hard for me to choose between the two because they are both just so good. I love The Ring Cycle because Niles and Daphne finally get married but they do it so out of character! The elope to Reno and get married right away. I loved their vows to each other, just so heartfelt and sweet. So many good things about that episode and with Goodnight, Seattle it was the birth of Niles and Daphne's son, David. It's sad because it's the last episode but it's special because so many good things are happening. I just loved seeing Niles and Daphne finally become parents and how everyone reaches a new phase in their lives. Great viewing all the way around.

Of course there are other episodes I absolutely love but these are definitely my top three. This was a cool idea, Pat!

Whew this is a hard question. I have to think about it. I'm such a huge Niles and Niles and Daphne fan that I tend to go straight to those episodes, but actually I think some of my most favorites are other episodes that involve all the characters but have really great N & D moments too. I have to think about which episodes I run to see whenever they're on...
I'll be back to answer!

I think To Tell the Truth is definitely in my top three, but let me think more on it.

It was soooo hard to get it down to just three. After I thought about it, there's tons of episodes that have a scene or two, or even half the episode that I really love more than the episode as a whole. So I had to eliminate all those and try to focus on three that I love the entire episode from start to finish. That was hard. Here's what I came up with:

3. Travels with Martin/Martin Does it His Way/Dial M for Martin - I know- it's three episodes. But I couldn't narrow these down because I love them all for the same reasons and they're sort of all the same kind of episode to me. Pick any one of them you want to be my third favorite. What I love about these episodes are the chemistry between the three men (Frasier, Niles, Martin) plus the extra thing each one has that makes the episode a little slice of awesome. In Travels with Martin, it's chemistry plus Daphne and a Winnebago, and Niles wearing his cap backwards. In Martin Does it His Way, it's chemistry plus a great song. And in Dial M for Martin it's chemistry plus everyone losing their mind when they think Daphne might leave. Gotta love that.

2. Something Borrowed, Someone Blue - You can't deny this episode. Any N & D fan can't possibly overlook this one for obvious reasons.

1. To Tell the Truth - this is my favorite episode of the entire series. I love Niles in this episode, even though he starts out a little snooty in Donny's office, he is so vulnerable, and adorable, and sweet in the rest of the episode. And I just really like the tension in this episode and the whole idea of the lawyer that Niles hires (and wins with) walking away with the one thing that means the most to Niles. And to me, it's the beginning of the beginning for Niles and Daphne, even though there's some bumps to come. It's like years later, when they're telling their kids the story of how they came together, this is where they'll start the story. Love, love, love it.

Sorry I never saw this thread till now. It's a tough call. But I think "Ham Radio" is one of my favorites, for obvious reasons. Also "Something Borrowed, Someone Blue," and "Taking Liberties" for the scene where Niles FINALLY tells Mel off!

01) Halloween (s05e03)
I love the episodes defined by a series of misunderstandings, and this is simply the best of them, also digging inside characters.

02) Moon Dance (s03e13)
As it delivers one of the best Niles and Daphne moments.

03) The Good Son (s01e01)
The authors lay the first stone of one of the best sitcom ever, as in just 20 minutes they manage to re-write and re-define on of the most beloved characters of tv, and get rid of a burdensome legacy that weighed on their shoulders. Outstanding.

Yesterday evening I've re-watched 'A Midwinter Night's Dream' from season 1.
Awwww, what a great episode is this... maybe I'll change top 3.

I love your reasoning for The Good Son. Very well said.

I have so many favorites but these would probably be my top picks.

1. Moon Dance - Love watching Niles & Daphne tango, I can watch this over & over again.

2. The Innkeeper - Niles & Frasier open a restaurant together which was good in theory but not in reality. And of course they wanted it to be the best and get rave reviews. This had me laughing out loud near the end.

3. Door Jam - This is where they join that spa and they keep wanting to move up to the next exclusive level. They finally end up outside with bees chasing them. This one cracks me up because it's just so "Frasier".

I love the "Ski Lodge" episode. It's so hilarious with all the misunderstandings. I think that one's my favorite of all!

I also like the one where Frasier and Niles think that there's been a murder in their childhood home and they dig the whole floor up trying to find a body!

Also Niles' Halloween party where everyone comes dressed up as their favorite literary character. Lots of misunderstandings about Roz's pregnancy.

Absolutely love all of the party episodes!

Very hard to narrow it down to three...

HAM RADIO

I can watch this episode about 10 times in a row. Just everything about it is fantastic, from Daphne keeping time, to Frasier upsetting a seasoned actor.

My favorite part of the episode is when Niles learns that he plays six characters, and he rises to the occasion.

When Gil Chesterton tries to get his speech out, that kills me too.

FRASIER CRANE'S DAY OFF

Wacky and zany, the show was not afraid to go out on a limb during the first season, it was a very fun episode.

HOW TO BURY A MILLIONAIRE

Niles Crane goes from the 2 story (and one floor that's barely a crawl space) expansive apartment, The Montana to the Murphy bed, and 4 slice toaster of the Shangri-La, nothing else needs to be said.

I'm rewatching the show for my first time... and yesterday evening I've seen the first episode of season 4: "The Two Mrs. Cranes".

I completely forgot about this episode, but is probably the funniest I've re-seen so far.
What a great show this is.
