how many season(s) was he on the show? Which season or seasons? Why did he leave? How did they write him out?

Jamie Cartwright (played by Mitch Vogel) came on in Sept. 1970 (Season 12) as Jamie Hunter and was adopted by Ben. (Mitch was born in Jan. 1956, making him around 14 back then.) He stayed on into Jan. 1973 (Season 14), which was when the series ended. As he appeared in the final episode, he never did leave.
You can explore further by checking into Mitch's credits, here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0900938/f...t_15#tt0052451 |

What a great young actor he was on Bonanza.A total natural.I guess he decided to get out of showbiz. As far as I know, aside from a few apearances on some programs after Bonanza ended it's run he did not do much.He definitely had amazing talent especially for someone who was quite young at the time.

Has Me-TV or TV Land ever shown the "Jamie" episodes?

Good question. I do know that MeTV has shown episodes as late as Season 11 -- but no further (???) as far as I've seen.
One problem is that some of Mitch's work may fall under the "Lost Episodes" category -- those are rarely aired anymore, but they have been shown on cable (by Hallmark, if I remember correctly). |

I do remember seeing the Jamie episodes when the show first aired. I caught one episode a few months back with Ron Howard and Mitch and I believe it was in season 14.
