Sinead O'Connor Demands Apology from Miley Cyrus, Threatens Legal Action
Oct 4, 2013 by Sadie Gennis Sinead O'Connor isn't finished with Miley Cyrus just yet. O'Connor posted three more letters to Cyrus on Facebook in response to the 'Wrecking Ball' singer comparing O'Connor to Amanda Bynes, posting old tweets of O'Connor seeking a psychiatrist and a photo of her infamously ripping up a photo of the Pope on "SNL" in 1992. "Who the f--- is advising you? Because taking me on is even more f---in' stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism," O'Connor wrote. "You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent. In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help." O'Connor angrily explained to Cyrus that mocking people for mental illness is dangerous, and even goes so far as to threaten that Cyrus will "one day suffer such illness, that is without doubt." "Furthermore you posted a photo of me tearing the Pope's photo .. as if to imply insanity.. by doing so all you have achieved is to expose your staggering ignorance. I suggest you read The Philadelphia Report, The Boston Report, all the reports which will illuminate for you why that action of mine remains sane and valid. By mocking it you mock every child who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of priests and had it covered by the Vatican. You could really do with educating yourself, that is if you're not too busy getting your t--s out to read,"O'Connor explained. Cyrus brushed off O'Connor's comments on Twitter, writing, "Sinead. I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week. So if youd like to meet up and talk lemme know in your next letter." O'Connor once again took to Facebook in response, telling Cyrus, "I have no interest whatsoever in meeting you," adding that hosting "SNL" "is a bull**** reason" for not doing the right thing. "You can take five minutes today between g- string ****in' changes to publicly apologize and remove your abusive tweets. If you do not then you don't give a **** who you mock and what damage you do by being so ignorant," O'Connor continued. "When you publicly apologize to Amanda and myself and all mental health sufferers as well as all who were abused by priests that will end the matter as far as I am concerned." O'Connor also pointed out the hypocrisy in Cyrus' decision to make light of Bynes' current mental health issues by comparing her plight to that of Cyrus' friend and Bangerz collaborator Britney Spears. "If Spears is your friend and more importantly if you are a true friend to her.. you ought apologise for joining those who mock and humiliate women who have been too nice frankly, to manage the music business without sensibly losing their minds," O'Connor said. The Irish singer repeatedly threatened legal action against Cyrus if the tweets are not removed, claiming they have created a false image of mental instability which will hurt her career "since it is extremely hard to be given work when people think one is suffering from mental illness." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Sinead-O...d-1071670.aspx |

I'm no fan of either but I'm siding with Sinead on this issue. |

Miley is just deliberately and desperately trying to prove to the world Hannah Montana is dead and it's pathetic that she is starting feuds with a woman old enough to be her mother. If this is how she thinks being is adult is she still has a lot of growing up to do.

Sinead O'Connor Says Miley Cyrus Feud is Over
Oct 5, 2013 by Sadie Gennis Sinead O'Connor got in a few last digs before declaring her feud with Miley Cyrus to be officially over. According to The Daily Mail, O'Connor appeared on Ireland's "Late Late Show" Friday, where she told host Ryan Tubridy that Cyrus' decision to bring Amanda Bynes into the argument "was a nasty thing to do," but acknowledged that it was unlikely Cyrus intentionally meant to hurt Bynes. "It's about music being murdered, it's not actually about Miley," O'Connor said, adding, "As far as I'm concerned it's over. It's not something I really want to talk about." And while O'Connor refused to say more on Cyrus — or her two new cheek tattoos B and Q — she did take the opportunity to slam the music industry in general. "The money-making end of music is taking over," she said. "Why I would engage in wanting to talk to certain artists is ... as a mother and ... as a person who loves music and believes in its power to change things." O'Connor even used her own career to prove her point about sex overshadowing the actual music. "I was asked to wear mini-skirts and grow my hair and that is why I shaved my hair. I wanted to be genuinely judged on my talent and not how I looked," O'Connor said. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Sinead-O...r-1071710.aspx |

This whole feud aside, Miley really needs to issue an apology. Not only to Sinead, but to the many people with mental illnesses that she most likely offended...many being her own fans. Sinead said some things she had no business saying, but Miley took it way too far.

Miley Cyrus on Feud with Sinead O'Connor
10/7/13 by Hilary Lewis Miley Cyrus sat down for an interview with host Matt Lauer in which he asked her about the recent controversies, including her feud with Sinead O'Connor. Cyrus praised the singer, calling her "an incredible artist, an awesome songwriter" and an inspiration for her 'Wrecking Ball' video. But she said she didn't understand how O'Connor, who wrote a series of open letters to the pop star, could start a fight with her by saying she respected her. In closing, Cyrus said, "It's all good. You can write as many open letters as you want. That's really what blogging is. So, I mean, I get open letters every day. It's nothing too new for me." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...a-month-644281 |

The more Miley tries to prove how grown up she is the more immature she appears.

Sinead O'Connor Urges Miley Cyrus to Apologize in Fourth Open Letter
Oct 9, 2013 by Robyn Ross We guess this feud isn't really over. Sinead O'Connor has written a fourth open letter to Miley Cyrus. O'Connor's most recent correspondence focused on how Cyrus is doing damage to the mental illness community. She addressed Cyrus' comments on her recent "Today" show appearance. "You've said on Matt Lauer's show (where you again refer to me as 'crazy') that you don't understand why I have been upset with you," she said. "Until you exposed me (And Amanda Bynes) to abuse on the grounds of my having sought help (extremely coherently) to save my life, when experiencing suicidal compulsion as a side effect of a medication called Tegretol, I had no problem with you whatsoever. I would very much like you please to apologize to myself and Amanda Bynes for having perpetuated abuse of both of us on the grounds that Amanda has had 'mental health issues' and that I experienced suicidal compulsion and was open about seeking help in order to save my life." "Please do the right thing. You will actually save lives by doing so," O'Connor continued. "There are people who will NOT die tonight, if you are brave enough to state that there is nothing whatsoever wrong with any person seeking publicly or privately, help, in order to stay alive. And that there are no circumstances under which it is acceptable for anyone to use mental illness as a stick with which to beat people." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Sinead-O...r-1071849.aspx |

Miley Cyrus Doesn't Know If She'll Ever Make Up with Sinead O'Connor
by Associated Press Oct 9, 2013 Miley Cyrus says she’s not sure she’ll make up with Sinead O’Connor after the back and forth drama between the singers. When asked in an interview Tuesday at an NYC signing for her new album, 'Bangerz', Cyrus said, “I don’t know. Are we supposed to kiss?” Cyrus was all smiles at the meet-and-greet where she thanked fans for purchasing her new album. “It’s so rad to see all my fans out here. I’ve been trying to keep this music a secret for a year, so now that it’s bumping on the speakers it feels so good,” she said. The feud between the performers continued Tuesday when O’Connor published a fourth open letter to Cyrus, asking for an apology. http://music-mix.ew.com/2013/10/09/m...inead-oconnor/ |

Until she realizes that she has done something wrong, there will be no "I'm sorry!" out of Miley's mouth and even if she did come to the realization, I doubt that she would be the kind of person to say "I'm sorry!"
God bless you always!!! Holly |

Miley Cyrus Speaks Out on Sinead O’Connor Criticisms: “God Bless Sinead O’Connor”
by Bruce Haring August 25, 2023 A month after the untimely death of Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor at age 56, Miley Cyrus has spoken about their 2013 conflict over the younger singer’s nudity in her video for “Wrecking Ball.” The incident saw O’Connor write an open letter criticizing Cyrus for appearing nude in the “Wrecking Ball” music video. O’Connor called it a result of exploitation from the men around the former “Hannah Montana” actress. “I was expecting there to be controversy and backlash, but I don’t think I expected other women to put me down or turn on me, especially women that had been in my position before,” Cyrus said Thursday night in her ABC concert special, “Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions).” “This is when I’d received an open letter from Sinead O’Connor, and I had no idea about the fragile mental state that she was in, and I was also only 20 years old, so I could really only wrap my head around mental illness so much. All that I saw was that another woman had told me that this idea was not my idea.” Cyrus said the video concept was her own decision. “Our younger childhood triggers and traumas come up in weird and odd ways, and I think I’d just been judged for so long for my own choices that I was just exhausted, and I was in this place where I finally was making my own choices and my own decisions, and to have that taken away from me deeply upset me,” Cyrus said. “God bless Sinead O’Connor, for real, in all seriousness.” From there, Cyrus made amends by performing “Wonder Woman,” a track from her new album “Endless Summer Vacation.” A title card indicated the song was dedicated to O’Connor. A moment of silence came after it was finished. https://deadline.com/2023/08/miley-c...ms-1235528640/ |
