The Pittsburgh Steelers are bad. How bad, you ask?

Well, Pittsburgh is currently 0-4 after a 34-27 loss against the Minnesota Vikings in London. The last time Pittsburgh was winless through its first four games was 1968. While it is dangerous to count a team out after four games, Pittsburgh's chances of making the playoffs this season are slim-to-none.

That is pretty disappointing for any team to admit in September. It also had to be equally as hard for Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to confess his revelation after the game:

“Right now you could say we're the worst team in the league,” Roethlisberger told reporters, including Les Carpenter of Yahoo Sports.

Well, when you consider in three of four seasons from 2008-11, the Steelers lost only four games all season, it is easy to understand why Roethlisberger is so disappointed.

Roethlisberger completed 36-of-51 passes for 383 yards and one touchdown, but he fumbled in the red zone during the final minute of Pittsburgh's loss, which sealed their loss. However, Roethlisberger does not deserve all the blame.

Pittsburgh's offensive line, which allowed five sacks this past Sunday, has been dismal without center Maurkice Pouncey, who has a torn ACL and MCL in his knee. Pittsburgh's loss of receiver Mike Wallace and linebacker James Harrison in free agency this past offseason are bigger subtractions than the Steelers expected.

"I just have to hope and believe we can turn it around because we have to believe that we can still be a part of something special," Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "And if you don't believe that, then you don't need to be on this team or be out here."

Even though Pittsburgh is bad, the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also in contention for the "worst team" distinction.
