TJ--You've done such a terrific job with this site which gives a lot of people many hours of pleasure. I know it's a real hobby of mine.
How about adding a bio about the origins of Sitcoms Online? When was it created? How did you get the idea? How long have you been interested in sitcoms? How has the site grown and changed over the years? Has the site been reviewed by critics, if so, maybe links to the reviews? Put your modesty aside, lol. It wouldn't have to be personal--just a synopsis on how this wonderful site was created. I know I'm interested. Thanks. Last edited by Janice; 02-23-2002 at 11:28 PM. |

Thanks for the nice comments.
Let's see... it all started with Happy Days Online which I started in May 1997, I then added Diff'rent Strokes Online in January 1998 followed by a few more sites after that. I got the original idea for Sitcoms Online in late 1998. There was no real good directory of sitcom related sites so I got my own domain name in January 1999 and the rest as they say is history. The original site was just on one big page of links. I later switched to frames and broke the listings down alphabetically. When I got more webspace and bandwith, I started adding message boards, theme songs, and most recently video clips. I have had an interest in sitcoms (and tv in general) since I was very young. My comprehensive sites tend to be my favorite sitcoms from the 80's which I grew up with. dg, can you post that review from Entertainment Weekly if you have it? What issue is it? This is the first time I've heard of it. My Facts of Life site I know was featured in Entertainment Weekly last March. My Happy Days site was a Yahoo Pick of the Week many years ago and is probably my most popular othen then the main site. Any publicity is good publicity as far as I'm concerned. |

Sure TJ! Here it is...
"All Sitcoms, All The Time," promises this links warehouse for the continually evolving television art form. Consider the issues facing modern man: How old was I when Parker Lewis Can't Lose ran? Where to buy a That Girl T-shirt? When did The Jimmy Stewart Show begin to lose steam? Where can I find artwork inspired by Small Wonder? Whatever your question, the answer probably starts here. A few dud links couldn't even earn applause from a studio audience, but the site's select episode guides make up for them. A- It was in the Dec. 7, 2001 issue. |
