"The O.C." Gets Turkish Adaptation
"The O.C." Gets Turkish Adaptation
9/17/2013 by Lesley Goldberg Turkey is going to "The O.C.". Warner Bros. International Television Production announced Tuesday that the Josh Schwartz teen soap will be remade in Turkey for Sky TV, marking the first local adaptation of the U.S. series. Fox's "The O.C." ran for four seasons from 2003-2007 and followed a group of friends and families in a wealthy harbor-front community. The Turkish version will use the same format and center on a group whose lives are forever changed when an outsider arrives at their affluent ocean-side residence. The 13-episode season hails from Ay Yapim and Warner Bros. International Television Production. "We are really pleased to be working with Ay Yapim and Star TV on the Turkish version of The O.C. Today, the standards are so high in drama, so we are delighted with what they’ve done with such an iconic format -- it looks glossy and perfectly replicates the original series with a Turkish twist," said Andrew Zein, senior vp creative, format development and sales at WBITVP. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...ptation-630619 |
