It's not a very good idea for a game show. To me, game shows have a simple format that viewers can identify with and play along at home. Skin Wars, from what I read looks like a show that doesn't involve the home audience and will be a boring 30 minutes to an hour of a game show fan's time.

It's also GSN''s first venture into a competition format like Survivor. It seems that the network doesn't seem to have a lot of ideas for conventional game shows other than revivals such as Pyramid.

and let's not forget get about The Chase and we won't talk about Mind of a Man for now. but I don't think that this is a "GAME SHOW" per-se Howilu it's obviously a "REALITY SHOW" for which of course never, ever, EVER! works in their favor. but this isn't the first time GSN has dip their foot into the reality show pool, their were other shows they tried to do and all of them 'fail' (not fell) under the radar like these 'Freudian Slips' of the Entertainment world:

DJ Games
Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned
American Dream Derby
Carnie Wilson: Unstapled
Hidden Agenda
Instant Recall
Family Trade

what I really hate about this howilu is that GSN thinks that their loyal viewers (or lack their of) would be so stupid to think that a reality show would work for them that they will become drooling Neanderthals and would be forced to watch and enjoy it. but the 'reality' is that GSN viewers are not that stupid, they already know that a 'REALITY SHOW' will never work on a network that's supposed to be for 'GAME SHOWS'. in other words is not the 'VIEWERS' that are the problem and it never has been. It's GSN themselves who fail to realize this theory never works. so until they do (for which IMO I don't think it won't happen) they will deliberately continue to shoot themselves in the foot until their on life support. also I think their first "Survivor like" competition was American Dream Derby but this show might probably be the second attempt but then again I maybe wrong.

also I sometimes feel like GSN doesn't want to support the "Game Show" genre 24/7 anymore, in other words GSN is like Harvey's Feud for which of course their both having a F**king Mid-Life Identity Crisis right in front of our eyes and I think Amy-Introcaso Davis is behind the development of this crime (Skin Wars I Mean).

THIS JUST IN:

Skin Wars has a host in Rebecca Romijn (Stamos) along with a "Drag Racer" RuPaul and body paining experts Craig Tracy and Robin Slonina as judges. the show will air for eight episodes in the summer of 2014:
