"The Big Bang Theory" Exclusive: Christine Baranski Set to Return as Leonard's Mom

Brace yourself, Leonard: Mommy Dearest is paying another visit.

"The Good Wife‘s" Christine Baranski has signed on to reprise her role as Leonard’s brilliant-but-socially-challenged TV mother Beverly in an early Season 7 episode of "The Big Bang Theory", TVLine has learned exclusively.

Beverly was last seen in the CBS hit’s Season 5 premiere when she turned up via Skype to offer Leonard advice on his Penny vs. Priya predicament.

When she returns in the Oct. 10 episode, it will once again be via Skype (Baranski’s Good Wife duties on the East Coast make in-person appearances difficult).

It’s not clear what brings her back, but, given her special connection to Sheldon, one shouldn’t assume it’s her son she wants to see. Just putting that out there!

"The Big Bang Theory‘s" seventh season gets underway with back-to-back original episodes on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c.
