It seems that at least every year, a segment from Unsolved Mysteries is brought to a close. So far, a pretty big case from 1992 was closed earlier this year. I wonder what else will be solved within the remainder of the year and in 2014. Which were solved in 2012?

I can't really help you with an average for cases solved per year since the show first aired in 1987, but I do know that about five or six UM cases were solved or had new information/updates in 2011. I don't remember as many being solved or updated last year.
As you mentioned, this year has the update of Wendy Camp, Lisa Kreager, and her daughter's (Cynthia Britto) remains being discovered in May (? I believe) after being missing persons since late May of 1992. There's been a couple of other male fugitives from UM cases being sentenced or brought to trial this year as well. |

Just out of curiosity, how many cases, if any, have been solved as a direct result of discussions and information generated from this message board?
I know I have seen people connected with various cases post here over the years. Does anyone know of a particular case where this forum in some way played a part in it's resolution? |

There was someone on here that posted within the last couple of years that seemed to be in-the-know about what happened to Larry Costine and Melissa Sermons. They were supposedly killed by brothers Danny and Joe Cerezo. One of them later went to prison for an unrelated crime(s) and supposedly confessed or confided to someone (I think the person posting) about what happened. The one that was in prison died of an illness and the other brother was still out in the world free for the last 20 years or so but I thought I read that they were arrested recently. I think Joe was the one in prison that confessed and died and that Danny is or was the one that had never been sent to prison for this or any other crime. That's the closest thing I can think of to a discussion possibly playing a hand into action being taken (if my memory is correct about Danny Cerezo being arrested). |
