Default The Chief or James Evans: which father would you be more afraid of?

I stated in another post that these two fathers had a lot in common. Neither one put up with any bull from their kids. Both had tempers. Both were known to take off their belts. I think I would have minded them if I was their kid, LOL.

Which would you be most afraid of? For me it's about equal. You could potentially get a whipping from either one if you stepped out of line too far. I never saw James Evans slap his kids, but he might have been capable of it. Still, James might have been a little stricter. It seems like J.J., Thelma, and Michael were more afraid of James than Katie, Julie, and Samantha were of the Chief. At times, all three daughters told the Chief off. I never recall the Evans kids doing that, although Michael stood up for his beliefs even against James.

Both were really good fathers, even while being so old-fashioned and hard-nosed. They loved their kids more than anything. Both worked hard and wanted their kids to have things they didn't have.

James Evans seemed angrier than the chief. Both were loving to their families, but very strict. The Evans kids did seem to be more afraid of James than the Kanisky kids were with their father. While we may not have seen James get physical with the kids, it was talked about. So we know he gave whippings when he thought the kids needed one. I'm still on season 4 of GAB. So far, I haven't seen the chief slap Samantha, but I have seen him slap Katie and Julie.

They are both horrible! Even the Mel Harper character of "Alice" is horrible also! But they all will not be the best like the Mike Katowinski character of Hang Time.

James, by far, was more of a physical threat. In much better shape, and younger than the Chief. For those reasons, I will go with James

James; the chief's bark was often worse than his bite.

James, Chief Carl Kasinsky and Mel Harper characters are all horrible and they are worser than that Coach Mike Katowinski character, IMO.

His name is Mel SHARPLES, not "Harper" and I don't know WHY you keep on bringing him up. What in the world does "Mel Sharples" have in common with James Evans? Mel wasn't even a father.
