Default Watching Ellie D.O.A.?

Will "Watching Ellie" join "Bob Patterson" and "The Michael Richards Show" in the graveyard from hell? Why is NBC giving it a death sentence with an 8pm time slot? It's the same slot where Michael's show died. In fact, all of the series have aired on Tuesday's in aggressive time slots.
My bet, some hack will wave big bucks in the faces of all three and convince them to revive the "Seinfeld" characters in a spin-off. My choice for a title: "Seinfeld Arms" also starring Lawanda Page as Aunt Esther.

Who the hell is Wink Williams?

Talking

The magic eight ball that is my brain says 'yes' to this question. The advertisements for the show are very entertaining and interest me -- but so did "Bob Patterson's" and "Micheal Richard's." But we'll see...

NBC is taking a chance with having "Watching Ellie" lead things off.
They really should sandwich it in between "Frasier" and "Will And Grace" for a while, to get the good lead in ratings.
NBC has no problem with doing that on Thursday, why not try that strategy on other nights?

NBC sucks. How come they put Jesse, Veronica's Closet, Suddenly Susan, Madman of The People, Caroline In The City on Thursday nights during their first seasons, but they can't put Watching Ellie on Thursdays just to test it out??? They should give Julia-Louis Dreyfus a pedestal. Cause without Seinfeld, who knows if NBC Thursday would still be Must-see-TV.

What was I thinking? Will and Grace is on Thursday, Frasier on Tuesday. Man, where is my head at?

NBC has that new Leap Of Faith show premiering this week at the 8:30 Thurs. timeslot. I think that show's content fits in better as a follow up for Friends.
That is probably the toughest place for a new show to premiere, since there have been so many high profile failures in that slot.

I've been thinking about it, and a show featuring a former cast member of Seinfeld will get high ratings, no matter where it is put on the schedule.
Now if it can just keep those ratings...

I have to agree with you for a few reasons -- first off, "Leap of Faith" has recieved the Thursday night slot, but, I have to give my opinion: "Leap of Faith" looks absolutely terrible, and there are no big stars starring in that show -- at least, I've never heard of any of the people, but I could be wrong. Whereas "Watching Ellie" seems rather entertaining and stars an Emmy Award winning actress.

So here we've got supermodel Brooke Shields in "Suddenly Susan," Emmy Award winning Kirstie Alley in "Veronica's Closet," the multi-talented and ever popular Christina Applegate in "Jesse," and Lea Thompson in the four-year running "Caroline in the City," and yet they can't rank Julia Louis Dreyfus among those stars? Something isn't right with this...

You put a show that needs a boost or recognition behind "Friends" so it will catch on. Some did, some didn't (Inside Schwartz - Yikes)
Julia Louise Dryfuss doesn't need any help.
Her show looks like a winner. It has gotten good critical response, so it doesn't need a lead in like Friends.
I don't think NBC is slighting Miss Dreyfuss. Her show dosn't need any help.

Cool Watching Ellie

I think it should be this schedule for MUST SEE TV Thursday Nights:

7PM Friends

7:30PM Watching Ellie

8PM Frasier

8:30PM Will & Grace

9PM E.R.

(All Times Central)

That would attract people on Thursday :-)

They should bring back their slogan:

Come Home To NBC

That's a good slogan:-)

Cordially,

Default Better time slot

I see NBC wised up and are sandwiching "Ellie" between "Frasiers." A rerun at 8 and new one at 9pm. I suspect they can do this for a few weeks before sticking it in the 8pm time slot. This should help it a little. Why, why not give it a Thursday slot?
The pilot had solid timing and Julia was great. The clock has to go. It's very annoying.
