"Supernatural" Alum To Recur on "The Originals" -- EXCLUSIVE

Dracula is coming to "The Originals"… sorta.

EW has learned exclusively that CW’s forthcoming "Vampire Diaries" spin-off, "The Originals", has cast "Supernatural" alum Todd Stashwick, who fans of that show will recall played a Dracula-impersonating shapeshifter during season 4′s 'Monster Movie'.

The actor is set to recur in the role of Father Kieran starting in episode 4 of the show’s freshman season, which kicks off Oct 3.



“Kieran is a tortured Priest with a dark past,” executive producer Julie Plec says.

“Once a powerful and pragmatic diplomat between the humans and the various supernatural factions in New Orleans, he returns home looking for answers about a personal tragedy but finds a very different landscape than when he left.”





In related casting, EW can confirm news that some fans have been hoping for since "The Originals" was announced:

Stashwick’s fellow "Supernatural" alum Sebastian Roche will reprise his role as Mikael, the patriarch of the Original Family. The character, first introduced in the third season of "The Vampire Diaries", will appear in an episode early in the season.

"The Originals", starring Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies, will air Tuesdays before "Supernatural" on The CW.
