Default Helicopters in the Canadian UFO case

I have heard the Guardian Canadian UFO case was proven to be false and the main people involved in the case like Bob Oeschler and Diane Labenek were full of **** and were making up a hoax.

However, what about the helicopters that were spot flying over the area numerous times? Apparently many witnesses saw these helicopters.

That may be true, but a lot of people also saw the Gulf Breeze UFO's and insisted they were real, even after the discovery of the paper plate model.

I suppose its possible that you could use remote control toy helicopters and create an illusion they are higher in the sky than they are when in fact they are just smaller than what you think. I think its called the forced perspective illusion. I'd say it would be pretty tricky, you'd have to make sure you flew them in open sky so they didn't get to close to any trees or other objects to give it away, but its possible. From what I understand West Carleton was pretty open farmland with not a lot of trees, so It could be done.

Although the Guardian UFO is widely believed to be a hoax, I don't think its ever been definitively proven. I could be wrong.

can't see that being the cast. Toy helicopters are very small. No where close to the size of a real helicopters. I wonderf

You aren't familiar with the concept of forced perspective? Its used in movies all the time. For instance many times in a movie scene you see a city skyline in the background that looks far away across a river and life size skyscrapers, but sometimes its just cardboard buildings that are ten foot tall and only thirty feet away and create an illusion of a distant city skyline. I would imagine you could do it with toy helicopters too if you flew them at just the correct height and distance away. I'm not saying that's what happened here. If Guardian UFO was a hoax they may have been real helicopters totally unrelated to the incident, or there may never have been helicopters at all.

But like I said I am not certain it was definitively proven the Guardian UFO was a hoax.

I think in the segment they mentioned that the helicopters were witnessed by everyone in town.

also setting up those toy helicopters to fool people into thinking they are real could require a lot of work and effort.

I am pretty sure they said that many people spotted the helicopters. Also, I am sure UM would have made sure there were many witnesses to the helicopters before mentioning them with certainty. They even go a Canadian general involved to talk about helicopter regulations

Well if this was indeed a hoax, it looks like a lot of work and effort was put into the rest of it too. Hoaxters can be surprisingly thorough and determined.

I wonder if it is possible that even the government actually believed this UFO story and sent helicopters there to watch the area?

Just saw the Farina version. They make no mention of it being a hoax. They even ask at the end if you are Guardian or who know who he is please contact them! LOL

I can't remember some details in this case - where was the sighting? Was it in Carp (which is just outside Ottawa)? There is a military base less than 2 hours up the road (northwest) from there. It's possible that they were doing some kind of routine training exercise. There is also an air force base about 2+ hours southwest of Ottawa, where (among other things) a lot of the search-and-rescue operations for eastern Canada are co-ordinated and carried out.
