I think the men may have been on drugs and they imagined that the moon in the night sky was chasing them and then abducted them in some way. I believe the men are being truly honest and they really believe they were abducted by a UFO but I don't think this is the case.

I never thought about it that way but you do make an excellent point. I THINK this took place in the 70s and I get the vibe that they may have been the “Hippie” type, so the drug theory makes sense to me. |

The drug thing is completely ridiculous. 4 adults are not going to take drugs and all have the same experience and witness the same thing.
This is the first time I've heard of them being artists. I know they were asked to make artist impressions of what they witnessed. Maybe that's what you're referring to. |

I believe two of the men were artists (which is why some of those drawings and paintings were so good). I'm not sure about the drug theory. I mean, yes it was the 70s, but we don't have anything to support it. Also, what are the odds that they would all have the same memories in therapy.
It is really hard to swallow these accounts and those in the Missing Time segment, because I don't believe in extraterrestrials; but I believe most of the people interviewed really believe it happened and are not pulling a fast one. One woman who stood out to me in the Missing Time segment was the one who said, "I wish the people who judge us and ridicule us could go through one day in my body. But I don't want it to happen to anyone else." Both segments to me were probably among the more believable of UM's UFO stories, particularly because in the Missing Time segment most of the women had extremely strange/rare gynecological problems. What are the odds that a bunch of people are going to come lie and nearly all the women happen to have these weird, almost non-existent symptoms? |

It has been proven that hypnosis can implant memories. The fact that they all tell the same story should not be taken to prove the veracity of the event in question. It should be taken as evidence of the suggestable nature of hypnosis.

I don't think the men are crazy, junkies, or on drugs. However, I am not convinced their "encounter" actually happened. But I'm not denying it either.
Remember, the "missing time" segment. Kristina Florence, the choreographer who decided to undergo hypnosis supervised by Budd Hopkins had visions in her mind, reminiscent of a supposed encounter she had during her teenage years along with her sister. She speculated that they may just be having an intense dream that feels so real; I'm sure all of us get eerie-feeling dreams from time to time. In spite of these stories of pure speculation, I believe the people involved in the Allagash Abductions and missing time are very much stable, sane, and not some sort of attention-seekers. They are not illogical either. |

The whole thing just seems very very real to me and this is coming from someone who much like TheCars does not buy into aliens at least in the way they've been presented to the public in various stories, reports and theories. But the Allagash thing seems incredibly rock solid to me. They either experienced something truly extraordinary or were led to believe they experienced of that nature. |
