When I created my Unsolved Mysteries site and this forum on July 21, 2001 (the day the show returned to Lifetime with new Robert Stack segments), I never thought that we would someday reach 100,000 posts. I have always been amazed how popular the board has remained even when the show hasn't been broadcast.
Thanks to our wonderful moderator Heather (crystaldawn) for all she does to help keep the board running smoothly. Thanks also to our regular posters and loyal readers. Hopefully we will one day reach 200,000 posts as new generations of fans discover the show. |

I absolutely love this forum. It’s refreshing to find other people who are UM fans. It honestly seemed like they didn’t exist until I came across this site!!

I hope the show grows in popularity also but there are two thinsg working against it.
1.) The show is no longer running new episodes (not since 2002, I believe) Most shows grow their popularity during first-run episodes. There are some exceptions to be sure. 2.) Until a network starts re-airing the original Stack-hosted episodes, the show's lack of exposure will keep it from gaining a new audience. The gritty feel of the first few seasons gave the show it's mystique. From the wonderfully spooky music to Stack's perfect delivery (as well as the re-enactments and how they were shot), the show's execution was near perfect. In the interest of full disclosure, I do not have cable right now (not for the past 3 years), so I haven't heard recently if old UM re-runs are appearing anywhere. |

About 50,000 posts are on the Jeff MacDonald case, 10,000 each on Tammy Leppert, Angela Hammond, and the Son of Sam. Another 10,000 are devoted to people that are generally disliked on here (Paul Pollis, Jule Caylor, etc.). 5,000 are devoted to Bob Bean and Danny "Air" Wheeler (I'm Michael Jordan too. I used to play for the Chicago Bulls). The remaining 5,000 are spread throughout the forum.

Wow, that's a lot of posts! I'm glad to see the shows gathers so much attention all these years later. It really says a lot for the impact the show had on people.

That is a huge milestone! Thanks for creating the UM board, TJ! I'm glad that the show has such a wonderful home on the internet. Here's to 100,000 more!

Overall, this is a terrific forum with excellent people. I can't tell you how many message boards I have seen die off due to lack of activity, but that has NEVER been a problem here. The board has been going strong for 12 years now with no end in sight.
