Adam Nayman in the Toronto Globe and Mail says:

"Kick-Ass 2 is the year's most unpleasant movie."





Claudia Puig in USA Today notes that one of the characters wears a T-shirt that sports the words I Hate Reboots.

Says Puig, "Lacking the inventive kicks of the original, this is a movie that will only underscore that sense of loathing."





Manohla Dargis in the New York Times says:

"it's the kind of cynical product that gives violent movies a bad name. There's no story to speak of, just a familiar title, recycled characters and carnage."





Mark Olsen in the Los Angeles Times suggests:

"After the summer's superhero films, this might appear to be the perfect time to release a movie in which the characters ... are average people running around in homemade costumes calling themselves super.

However, it winds up as an uncertain jumble rather than a true exploration of outrage, violence and identity."





The closest thing to a positive review comes from Rafer Guzma¡n of Newsday, who calls it:

"overstuffed, but entertaining."

Just a prediction, but I think this movie will bomb, or at least recoup of its budget, but still fall short of expectations, because of Jim Carrey's recent behavior as of late.

He has been bat**** insane ever since The Sandy Hook Shooting.
