Question Crossover show?

Wondering what anyone thought what would have been a possible show to do a crossover (ala Everybody Loves Raymond - King of Queens) with characters from another sitcom visiting WKRP?

It would have to be a show airing during the run of WKRP,
and one (I think) of a similar sentiment/presence and feel- i.e. no Three's Company.

Any ideas?

Cool

Oh gosh, this is going to be the hardest question in the universe if you're going for realism.

There haven't been a ton of shows set in the midwest in the first place, everything seems to be set in NY. That means you have to find a reason to drag characters from one part of the country to another. Then they need a reason to be at a radio station --- if it's going to take place there, anyway.

I'm not a big Mary Tyler Moore fan; did it take place in the same time period? At least a reporter could easily have a reason to crossover like that --- maybe Ted and Les could interview each other. <G>

You know, I can't even think of another show that had the kind of sentiment that WKRP had; that happy non-judgmental friends thing going on.

Hurry, somebody think of something!

TAXI!

TAXI WOULD BE A PERFECT CROSSOVER SHOW FOR WKRP!
TAXI WAS ON THE AIR AT THE SAMETIME AS
WKRP.
REVEREND JIM IGNATOWSKI WOULD BE AN HILARIOUS GUEST STAR.
HE COULD PLAY DOCTOR JOHNNY FEVERS BEST FRIEND!

Hey, would THAT 70'S SHOW count? I havent watched it for a couple of years, but i saw in some commercials that Donna was working in a radio station. Maybe some type of crossover could come from that.

Well, That 70's Show has the feel of a 70's sitcom (I suppose that's part of the point). I wonder if they ever mentioned WKRP on the show, as now I think they are in the year 1978.

And just to blow all my crossover rules, think about if WKRP characters ever went on the Love Boat.
Scary.

Yes they did, Donna is at the radio station with Eric and I believe Hyde (Howard Hesseman is also there). Eric says they have to go home now because WKRP is on.

well, you know how i dig frank bonner and all that. i recorded love boat when he was on it. <G>

Love boats a cool show, i watched it some when it was on - dont reember a great deal. I guess wkrp could have a trip on it as a contest prize. Or maybe one of jennifer's boyfriends could take her on a trip to somewhere exotic.
If they were a client and everyone at the station went on a free trip (like, they could broadcast a remote show from the ship, like
everybody does nowadays), herb could met of with nikki sinkler(sp) again and she could go after him the whole time. I can see him hiding under Les's bed and refusing to come out <G>

BILL DIAL IS A GREAT WRITER AND ACTOR!
