Default Why was the Dee character still needed if they got rid of the Mother?

They could have just made reference to Dee off camera and just focus on the guys at their apartment and soda shop.

Who wanted to see DEE hanging around the guys at the soda shop all the time? LOL Where was her friends?

I guess the writers wanted Dee to prop Little Earl by making him have a crush on her.

Three horrible things about season 3

1. Little Earl
2. Snake
3. Dee

And Rerun got twice as fat! LOL!
Snake was pretty dumb!
I didn't like Dee too much as she got older.

LOL
I think the only boy Dee dated was in the second season. He was that weirdo who was obsessed with TV. He was a loser.

I can't believe they still made reference to the mom in season 3 like she was still on the show

Lol. It was a ep in season 3 where they said she is not home.

Dee would sometimes mention Mama when she went to visit her brother and Rerun at their apartment. Very strange because it seemed as if Shirley was caring for Dee since she moved into the house.

What's Happening would have been the black happy days if Mabel and Bill were a married couple

I always think of this show as the black, 70s version of the 3 Stooges.

Raj would be Moe, Dwayne would be Larry, and Rerun would be Curly.

I don't think Raj was mean enough to be a Moe

He had more in common with Richie Cunningham lol

That makes more sense. Richie Cunningham was the white Raj. Both guys could be doofy, well meaning, all around good guys. And both Raj and Richie put up with bratty kid sisters!
Dwayne was Potsy. Potsy was silly and he liked to sing off key. There was an episode where Dwayne sang "Handyman" in Ms. Collins class. He was terrible! Both guys were goofy.

They did have a WH!! episode where Rerun fantasized about Happy Days. Was appropriate that Raj was Richie, Dwayne was Potsie, and Dee was Joanie. And Rerun was Fonzie and Shirley was the unnamed chick.

Or they could be the castaways from Gilligan's Island:

Rerun: Gilligan
Raj: The Skipper
Dwayne: The Professor
Shirley: Ginger
Dee: Mary Ann
Mama: Mrs. Howell (Lovey)
Bill: Mr. Thurston Howell III
