Who was Jan's ultimate best friend on the show?

I have seen Jan paired up with various characters over the years of the show. It seems when an actress that plays her best friend on the show leaves, someone else becomes her BFF by default. Out of Lois, Maggie, Kassie and Dot, I'd have to say Lois. Lois, like Jan, was a mother and the two seemed to have a lot in common and the voices of wisdom. I liked her pairings with the rest of the ladies I mentioned, it just seems that Lois stands out a little more to me. Opinion, anyone?

I agree that Lois seemed closest to Jan in Season 1 because the fact they both had kids gave them a common ground. I'd say as the show went on Jan was probably closest to Dot simply because the two had been at Above the Top the longest and Jan had little in common with Amy or Ginger. I'm sure Jan thought of Maggie as this spacey widow who needed looking out for.
