How about 'Condo' with McLean Stevenson. It had a pretty neat opening and theme by Paul Williams. I've seen excerpts of the pilot on the web. The premise seemed interesting enough and it was from vet producers Witt-Thomas-Harris. It aired right before 'Amanda's By The Sea' at 8:00 on ABC in early 1983.

Surprisingly, there are quite a few full episodes over on YouTube:

"Amanda's" was meant to be an Americanized version of "Fawlty Towers", but as I recall, it lacked most of the edgy, occasionally mean humor of the British series as ABC was afraid of offending anyone. As a result, apart from Bea Arthur, the show really didn't have a lot going for it and disappeared pretty quickly.

I have a handful of episodes on VHS and while I love Bea and was thrilled to see her back on TV in 1983 in this show, it doesn't hold up. Obviously, she's better than the material, but it doesn't have much replay value. I don't feel a DVD release is necessary.

I've never heard of this show...ever! Wow, just when I thought I knew it all when it came to sitcoms. I'll have to watch it on You Tube.

Yeah it was a crap show. I watched it years ago when I received it in a tape trade and just wanted to see how bad it was |
