Just want to update you to say that I'm fine. My computer's memory board completely shut down and havent been able to post or be on the internet.
I think I posted on here that I was having problems with my computer. Well, about 2 weeks ago, my computer stopped running, period. No internet, nothing. So, last week I took it to get a free diagnostic repair to see what was wrong with it. Yesterday, I got a call and said that apparently my memory board is completely gone and to repair it would cost about 280 bucks. They also said I could have a refurbished one at about 150 dollars. So now, I'm in this situation. Right now, I'm posting from my local library, so if you try to respond to a post or thread or something addressed to me, I really couldn't tell you when I will receive it. Sorry for the inconvience, and yes I am ok but not having my computer isn't ok. |

Thanks for the update. I hope you get your computer problems resolved quickly and affordably. In the mean time the library computer is a nice plan B. That's what I use these days since i can't afford internet at home.

Still no computer. Posting from the library. I thought I had figured my computer problem out. Best Buy had some type of 400 watt usage power supply for 40 bucks, so I decided to see for myself if this would work. Well, I went to Best Buy and I asked about this thing. I followed 3 workers all over the store trying to find this thing and finally they found the power supply and asked a worker if this would help and he said no.
So, when I had the free diagnostic repair they said I could get a refurbished tower for 150 bucks. Where would I get one of those? I don't have a clue and getting a new computer costs too much money. |

You should try and get a laptop. They are cheaper than desktops and last a lot longer. That's what I use and I prefer it over a desktop. Just a suggestion.

Perhaps think about getting an iPad. You could probably get an older model at a good price.

I will definitely take your suggestions about a laptop or an I-Pad. How much would they cost? Hopefully, not too much. As long as I get internet and watch videos, that's what I'm looking for.
Btw, I am the library posting this. Hope everyone is well. |

Maybe try to get a used computer. The last computer I had only cost me $60 and it lasted 5 years. I got my money's worth.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems. I went without the internet for close to a week once, and I hated it. It's a big part of my life. I get my news and stay in touch with both my online and offline friends. I hope you you're able to get back online soon.

Posting again from the library. Trying to see maybe that I should get a Tablet. I actually might have found one for a 130 bucks. That would be good as long as I could listen and watch videos and have internet service.
How did people do it back in the 60s w/o internet, computer etc.? |
