A Family Torn Apart

ok..lol...umm..i'm gonna start a fanfic..cuz well i'm bored. this is gonna be focused on jinny and casey and their family and the "gay situation"....ok..here goes.

........At Inspector Jinny Exstead's Apartment.......


Jinny's alarm bell rang....It was 7 AM...time to get ready for work.......


Jinny:ahh..great...work. hmmm...jin it could be worse, you could still be taking a carpool w/ mag or walking to work. and you could be living w/ dad. thank god it's not that.

It had been 4 months since Jinny had found a place to live. Now she was paying her for her apartment, electricity, phone bills, auto insurance-the whole nine yards.

Jinny:hmm..oh tonight's wed. Family poker night. Great. I can hardly control myself.

She opened her closet door and grabbed a pair of her light jeans, and a plain old black shirt. Right now she could care less. She went into the bathroom, used some mouthwash and then went into the kitchen.

Jinny:hmmm...okay toots, you're on your own..might as well start cooking...can't live on take-out for the rest of your life....okay today i will have absoultely nothing edible. *she was looking at everything in her fridge, and everything had expired a couple of weeks ago" Gosh..i need some food. But for now...I have chewy granola bars. mmm...

So Jinny ate her breakfast and then went to brush her teeth. She got out of the bathroom and changed her clothes.

Jinny:leather jacket, or no leather jacket ? hmm..okay we'll wear it today.

Suddenly the phone rang....

Jinny picked it up.

Jinny: oh hey casey....

Casey:uh...ok..u're coming tonight right ?
Jin:yeah i've been coming since our first weekly family poker night. what now i have to call to make a reservation ?
Casey: *laughs* no..i just wanted to make sure u haven't forgotten.
Jin:no..listen casey i know i was a screw up before but..i never have forgotten family poker night..and if i did..dad would never have let me in the house again..u know that.
Casey:*laughs* yeah....

Some guy in the background:Hey casey..

Caseyh hey jin i gotta go.
Jin:who was that ?
Casey:uhh..no..no one..w-why ?
Jin:mm...no reason. i'll see u tonight ok ?
Casey:be there...
Jinr be square..yeahyeahyeah.
Casey:bye jinny.
Jin:Bye cas.

......Jinny hung up the phone....

Jinny:mm...that was just..weird. why did he want to make sure i'd be there ? he's never done that. and who was that guy on the phone ?

Suddenly an idea pops into Jinny's head.

Jinny:nah...couldn't be.

Jinny puts her clothes on, grabs her jacket, and heads off to work. She reaches the SFPD at 7:30.

Cap:Jin..u're on
Jin:Time cap ?
Cap:yeah uh..that's it.
Jin:What's up ?
Cap:i need some advil or sumthin.
Jin:Isn't against department policy to "be under the influence of drugs while on work ?"
Cap:yeah well tell it to my migraine. I've been having it for the past 2 weeks.
Jin:Go see a doc.
Cap:yeah..ok..once magda comes in tell me-i'll get u your assignments.
Jin:Ok...will do.

10 mins later Inspector Ramirez walks through the divisoon doors.

Mag:Hey Jin.
Jin:Hey cap's got our assignments.
Magh..where's everybody ?
Jin:uh..doing their job ?
Mag:hahah..muy funny.
Jin:yeah...well...what can i see..it's me !
Mag:yeah..well...
Jin:Hey what's wrong ?
Mag:long night-loong night.
Jin:Wanna talk ?
Mag:no..thanx i appreciate it though.

Captain sees Magda. So she steps out of her office with a folder.

Cap:Magda you're here. Good. we've got a hate case.
Mag:what did they do ? burn down a church.
Cap:no..we got another matthew sheppard story.
Jin coughs. Mag looks at her, remembering Casey's gay.
Cap just looks confused.

Capk..umm..they found his body floating in the bay. apparently somebody killed him and stuffed him in there-not too well.
Jin:How do we know he was gay ?
Caph the best part. yeah..he was beaten up. and not only him but his whole family. The guy who did this went into their home a couple of days ago..kept yelling at them, calling their son a "queer" and then he took their son. Never heard from him again.
Jin:wow....
Mag:Where are the parents ?
Cap:At the hospital. they're stable. They've got some cuts and bruises but within time those will heal. They found out about their son a couple of hours ago. And they're being released in a couple of hours. Might wanna head down there-
Jin:yeah..we're there...
Magk..see you later captain.
Cap nods.

Jinny has a disgusted look on her face.
Mag:hey I know the case hit close to home...

Jinny got a flashback of when she drove to her dad's house, when Casey told JohnJr. he was gay. She saw them hit each other. The blood. Then she was holding Casey. then she took him the hospital. Held his hand through the stitches thinking it was all her fault..if only she had been there sooner.

Mag:jinny ?

The Cap comes out of her office.

Cap:Jin.
Jin:Cap'n.
Cap:Jinny.
Jin:Well no that we know our names, we can set the wedding date.
Cap:Jin, my office, now !
Jin:*let's out a big breath* okay.

Jinny walks into Kate's office. Kate motions for her to close the door.

Cap: *Unbuttons coat while going down to sit in chair* what's up with u ?
Jin:Nothing more than usual.
Cap:Jinny you know u can talk-
Jin:Listen cap right now is, uh not the best time ya know ? And I'm just not ready to talk about this. You know what ?
Cap gives her a questioning look. Jinny continues.

Jin:There isn't anything. Ok..there's nothing that needs time or whatever.
Cap:Ok well good. Just making sure nothing was going to interfere with your job.
Jin:and it isn't.
Cap:Good, now get outta here and go do your job. CD still here ?
Jin:No she left, I think.
Cap:Aright.

Jinny exits the cap's office.

Mag:Hey Jin-

Mag:Cuz u usuallyy don't say those things.
Jin:Huh..*scratches head* hmm...*presses lips together, like when u put lipstick on and wanna press em together, and makes a noise* hmm..well i'm..i'm sorry. i'm sorry. i shouldn't have just jumped down your throat and u were right, suprise suprise.
Mag:about...?
Jin:About the whole thing with the case being close to home cuz Casey's gay.
Mag:hmm...i see.
Jin:Hmm ? That's all you're gonna say ? After I apologized?
Mag:*Smiles* No, I understand. Jinny, you can talk to me, you know.
Jin:Yeah...*looks around the division*
Mag:well we better go speak to the parents and find some stuff out.

Magda begins leaving when she realizes her partner is not coming.

Mag:Jinny?
Jin:Hmm..what? OH ! Jesus, I'm sorry.
Mag:yeah...
Jin:It's just that...
Mag:Just that what?
Jin:*Takes a deep breath blows it out* i dunno, i got this weird feeling from Casey.
Mag:How?
Jin:I dunno, I mean he called me to make sure I was coming to poker night, and he just acted so strange and un-like himself. You know? And there was this guy in the background and-
Mag:You think it's someone more than a friend or someone he works with.
Jin:Well yeah, kinda. NO ! I mean I dunno, it could be anybody, pizza delivery guy, mailman, excpet he doesn't come at like 7 in the morning, his boss, or his

Jin:*lets out deep breath*Yeah that's that, that's it.
Mag:Jin I thought you didn't mid Casey being gay.

Jin:It's just that *lets out another deep breath* ..I start thinking about JohnJr. and how badly he hurt Casey when he found ou he was gay and what he'll do if he has a boyfriend. I don't wanna loose someone else.
Mag:Jin, you won't. it's ok.

They hug.

Mag:Ok..too make yourself feel better, why not just call him.
Jin:And say what?
Mag:WHat? can't a sister call his brother?
Jin:Yeah! *has that can-do attitude*

Jin:OK. *Picks up phone and dials Casey*
Jin:Here goes nothing. *gives Magda a "this better work" look*

Jinny has just dialed Casey's work number.

Guy:Hello?
Jin:Uh..hi! *was daydreaming and the guy startled her* umm..is casey, there?
Guy:yeah, hold on. CASEY!
Jinny nearly goes deaf.
Guy:Just a min.
Jin:Hmm...ok thanx.

Casey:Hello?
Jin:Hey.
Casey:Jinny?
Jin:yeah, u suprised?
Casey:well kinda.
Jin:Listen Casey I just need to talk to you.
Casey:what about?
Jin:Well-*sees Magda is still next to her* hold on a sec.

Jinny takes the phone off of her ear and covers the mouth piece.

Jin:Magda? You mind?
Mag:No, not at all, don't mind me.
Jin gives her a look and raises her eyebrow.
Mag:Oh. OH! ok..i'm gonna go call .....get coffee. Yeah. Bye.
Jin mouths Bye to Magda.

Jin:Ok..I'm back.
Casey:Yeah so what's up?
Jin:Well I got this weird feeling with you. I mean why'd u call to remind me of poker night? and that guy in the background.
Casey:you've been spending to much time w/ JohnJr.
Jin:No, casey seriously. I just got this, this vibe.
Casey:Vibe?
Jin:yeah, vibe. so tell me why dr.exstead.
Casey: *laughs* listen jinny i just called to make sure u were coming because......i'm gonna bring someone.
Jinny sighs a sigh of relief.
Jin:Thank god. I thought u were sick or sumthin.

Jin:Bye.

Jinny puts the phone back.

Jinny to herself:BRINGING SOMEONE OVER?!?!?!?! who? why? WHO???!?! oh great jin maybe it would've been best if u hadn't called.
