I have been watching the episode Mom Wars for many many many years now and i still find it to be one of the most realistic and depressing episode of the wonder years atleast in my theory the way kevin treats his mom at the end of the episode infront of his friends was kinda harsh to me, do you think kevin should have apologised to his mom for being a jerk and a wise guy ???

It was one of those episode that happen in real life, she had to let go of her baby. He was a jerk about it and deserved the injury.

I don't think Kevin was harsh. I mean Kevin has a right to hang out with the guys. Lets face it, having your mother there is somewhat embarrassing.

And to top it all off, he was under intense peer group pressure from that nasty little weasel Craig Hobson to show up and participate these after school Football games.

He was embarrassed to have his mom there and there was peer pressure to participate in the football games after school, but he didn't have to be that harsh about it. He could have tried to explain it to her nicely that he was growing up and that because he's older it was very embarrassing for her to show up there and ask if she could let him play football because the guys were counting on him to play and really wanted him to and he wanted to.
I always feel sorry for his mom in that episode, especially when he says what he does to her in front of his friends. You can see it hurt her feelings. She was just not wanting him to play because he could get hurt and was just not really wanting him to grow up so fast. She did need to let him grow up and let him play games like that with friends if he wanted though, just didn't deserve to be spoken to so harshly and hurt like that. |

Maybe it was festuring over time and Kevin had finally had it. Plus, if the guys razzed him about it that only adds to it.

Yeah i felt that kevin was nasty in this episode his mom was just trying to help him because people get hurt in football, this is the most realistic episode of the series teenage boys act like kevin when with there moms, the funny thing is when he hurts his hang he needed his mom to help him heal his hand
