What philisophies do you hold within you?

I have quite a few...

1. It doesn't matter how smart, pretty, successful, powerful, or rich you are: it's how you live your life and treat others that counts.

2. There are far more important things to worry about than what other people may think about your favorite TV show, least favorite music group, or whatever. Don't throw a huge hissy fit or act like it's the end of the world if someone has a different taste from you.

3. Never pass up on your favorite dessert, even if you already feel like you've gained a couple of pounds.

4. Always tell your loved ones that you love them. Life is so unpredictable. You'll never know; it could be the last time they hear you say "I love you".

5. Don't worry about what other people think of you. Only only about what YOU think of you.

same. it doesnt matter how people see you. what matters is how you think and feel about yourself and dont make anyone change that.

2. Practice makes perfect. [a true classic]

3. Honestly, be careful what you wish for. [I know that's another classic, but I've had a few instances about me wishing some awful plagues on people and..... I'll stop there.]

4. Life is short. Drink Starbucks first

And I'll add....

Take time to smell the roses (in other words, time to appreciate the little pleasures in life)

And here is a quote I really like that is also a philosophy I try to live my life by...It's from Faust:
"I've studied now philosophy, and jurisprudence, medicine-and even, alas, theology, from end to end, with labor keen; And here, poor fool! with all my lore, I stand, no wiser than before."

I think of this as a reminder to be educated from living life, not just from books. Books only take you so far, the real education you gain is from interations with other people and the world around you. There's more to life than studying or getting straight A's.

Never think you know someone - it's not possible to really know a person. Keep that in mind and people will never disappoint you.

Fate does exist but it only gets you so far. Once you get there it's up to you to make things happen.

Money can buy you happiness. People who say "money is the root of all evil" obviously don't have any!

It is NOT better to have loved and lost.

No matter how much a situation sucks, one day you will look back on it and smile.

Look out for yourself - when the situation really gets tough noone else will.

It's what you like, not what you are like that really matters in a relationship (at least in the beginning). If you have to pretend to be an N*Sync fan in order to get her to talk to you then so be it!

That's actually true. All those buff Bowflex guys will all eventually die, just like us all...

You never know how much you take a friendship for granted untill it is put on the line and is in danger of being lost. So treasue each and every friendship and never try to make it come close to the end....

Thats a good one, right there. I totally agree with that. I'm one of those people... I'm an individual. I NEVER follow the crowd if I don't think they're going the right way. I don't care what anyone says about me...i reach towards what I think i should be like, not others.
