Default What type of store would be likely to have a store keeper and get robbed?

Ok this is just something I'm wondering. I just want your input.

Some friends of mine and I are planning, sometime on making a skit about a robber who has trouble communicating his demands with a Romaninan speaking store keeper.

So just curious what type of store would be a good store to have a keeper and might be likely to be robbed.

This is based on a skit from the Carol Burnett Show I remember seeing a LONG time ago in the 80s,from the 11th season. And I just found the synopsis, so I think this si the skit I'm thinking of, but just wanting some input what would be a good type of store to use as the setting?

I'm just gonna talk about.. hehe

The skit will be, I will be a foreign store keeper who doesn't speak English, and I will be wearing this big huge blonde curly wig. A robber comes in and cannot get me to understand what he wants, so we go around and around like that for a while. He demands BREAD, so I give him actual BREAD, he gets more and more agitated.

Then finally the cops come in and arrest him, and in a foreign accent in broken English, I ask the cops to put the money the man has stolen in a bag I have, then I asked the cops to put all their money in the bag as well, and they are like, "Huh?" That's when I pull my own gun out of the bag and pull my wig off ~which under it I'm wearing a short dark wig~ and in perfect English, I demand they ALL put their money in the bag, then I run out with the money.

Twist ending lol

Could that be funny at all?

Cool

From personal experience, a gas station! (no I didn't rob a gas station! I used to work at a gas station and was a victim of 3 robberies!)

Don't do it for real though, you don't want some customer walking in thinking there was a robbery.

It might be easier to just make it a general store (7*11). That way you can put some items from your kitchen, e.g., cereal, canned goods, etc behind a makeshift counter. If you do the bread routine, it has to carry food.

Thanks, I wish I could get my hands on the Carol Burnett sketch again. I can't find anyone who remembers it.

I just vaguely remember it had something to do with a robbery, and Carol is wearing a big curly blonde wig and at the end, the wig is somehow pulled off her head and she's wearing a short dark wig under it. I SEEM to remember it being some sort of an office setting, like a bank for some reason.

But reccently I found an episode guide from season 11 ~Which I'm pretty sure is where this sketch is from since thats the only season they haven't shown in reruns since I was a child~

And I've based on the synopsises of the sketches I've narrowed it down to 2 sketches it could have been.

This one I'm telling you about, about a robber having trouble communicating to the Romanion store keeper.

AND..

There was one who talks about a "Wife of a busy corporate man who never gives her any attention takes drastic action to get his attention"

But I just think the first one has a better set up for the wig-gag at the end. And it seems like I remember the whole sketch having to do with a robbery and it seems like Carol turned out to be the robber at the end.

I wish someone could remember it.
