Eek Who's the worse insurance risk: Steve Urkel or Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor?

You be the judge.

Home Improvement had the problem of three different producers helming the show at different times: John Pasquin (1991-94), Frank McKemy (1994-97), & Alan Padula (1997-99). The changes in the opening sequences and writing direction were much more noticeable to me than the cast.

As for Family Matters, its main problem came in Season 4 (1992-93) when it became so obvious that the writers were trying too hard to have practically every episode focus on Steve Urkel and his clones/inventions (and Carl getting the brunt of the torture in the process). It seems that too many people forget that this show was originally supposed to be a spin-off of Perfect Strangers for Jo Marie Payton. Nine times out of ten, if you ask a random person if they remember watching Family Matters, they'll usually respond, "That show with Urkel?"

Cool

Steve Urkel had a lot of accidents (did I do that??) whereas as Tim blew a lot of stuff up in the course of performing his duties as host of Tool Time!! I have no idea how Binford could have afforded the insurance they must have needed to keep the show on the air! Or how they could even find a company willing to sell them a policy!!

It's amazing they were able to keep Tool Time on the air with the amount of money it cost to insure Tim!!

Conversations I've had before...

Person: What's Family Matters?
Me: Urkel
Person: Oh

Person: What's the name of that show?
Me: Home Improvement
Person: Oh, all I could think of was Tool Time.

I think it's Tim "The Toolman" Taylor" for worse insurance risk!

I vote for Tim Taylor too. Yeah, Urkel's went through the roof a couple times and backed into a garage, but he's had a lot of minor accidents in my opinion. Tim Taylor has blown up a house, dropped a beam on a vehicle, broken the windows in his house numerous times, fires, etc. He's had a lot of major accidents. I'm an insurance agent and I know I wouldn't insure him!

Steve was quite the klutz, but his accidents weren't nearly as severe as some of Tim's.

No, but Tim did burn down a friend's cabin after leaving a lit lantern upon leaving after an ice-fishing trip.
