Default Would you show concern if you got your paycheck and it was $2.00 lower and......

then the following week it was $4.00 lower?

I mean what person would not want to talk with payroll if their money is going in the wrong direction? LOL

The last two checks I received has been lower and today's check was lower than the one I got on 7/12. So my supervisor is trying to understand why am i so bothered by $2 and 4$ missing dollars??

what the f*ck does she mean it's only 2 or dollars? who does not want to know why their check is getting smaller? I have enjoyed working with my supervisor the past 8 months but she really irritated me with her "it's only $4.00' especially when she makes much more than me and has a husband

Am I the only one on the planet that would not want to know why my check suddenly went down? I can't be the only one

I went to HR and was told that since it's a extra day in the new fiscal year, everyone's salary is spread out the first 3 checks.

So she said it will be back to normal the last check in August.

I work for the city of phila

No, I would not show concern that it is $2 lower because that is stupid to show concern that is $2 lower, it is not going to hurt you

If you do not like it, you can always quit and look for a better job

It is not $200 lower so quit complaining about it

Did you hear me say the check went down two times in a row?

The 12th.....$2.00

Today.........$4.00

So It looked like 8/9 was going to be....$6.00

So why shouldn't I be concerned when supermarket prices are higher than ever?

Just buy generic brands if you want to save money even though generic brands are nasty

Maybe you are doing a terrible job that they decide to reduce $2 each week until you improve your performance

well that's why I had to ask because it seemed like I was penalized for something. No normal person looks at their check go $2 a pay and not questioned.

Not always, some generic or store brands are just as good or better than their brand-name counterparts.

I would definitely find out what's going on because I earned that money. Small amounts add up quickly over time.

If someone gives you grief about it say, "If you dropped $5, wouldn't you pick it up?" It's the same thing.

Have you spoken to payroll to find out why. Maybe there's a reason ( change in your benefit co-pay, change in tax rate, etc.)

When I worked at one job, each bi-weekly check was my annual salary times 14/365. But in the next fiscal year it was my annual salary times 14/366, because that FY crossed into a leap year - making my paycheck about 0.3% less.

So wacky things can happen; again go to payroll and find out WHY.

I explained it in the OP.

I was told that it's a extra day in the 2013-14 fiscal year so everyone's salary is spread out for the first 3 checks of the current fiscal year.

My issue was how my supervisor who is making a nice salary and has a husband was acting like I shouldn't be annoyed with losing money 2 checks in a row.

with all the sh*t going up including rent who the hell is not going to question a lower check? lol So i never experienced this before so of course I wanted a explanation as to why my check was lower. The past few months i was wondering if city employees received a cola raise so you know I definitely didn't want to see a COLA decrease LOL

They should be told you before it started happening, that way you weren't surprised, I hate stuff like that when they don't tell you something they easily could have. HR is always the worst to deal with at work
