Do they make you feel uncomfortable? If I'm in a tall building and I get into an empty elevator and it keeps stopping at every floor and more and more people start pouring in to it and I get pushed to the back away from the control buttons,I start to get restless. I start thinking of ways to get them out, like farting or coughing and hacking so they might think I have a contagious disease or yelling fire. There were times when I passed on a crowded elevator and walked 15 flights of stairs instead.

If an elevator gets crowded I start to feel a little claustrophobic. I always prefer to ride an elevator alone if I can. Since I'm not very good socially if someone else gets on the elevator their tends to be a lot of awkward silence!

When I'm running late. I don't care if the elevator is crowded as long as I get to my destination on time.

If an elevator is very crowded it makes me a little nervous. I would panic if the elevator ever got stuck as I'm claustophic.
My first year in college I had a Freshman English course on the fifth floor of one of the buidlings. The elveators in that building were very old. There were only two. Both elevators made noises. One was more unnerving than the other because it would sometimes shake and drop a small amount. There were a few times I had no choice but to take the five flights of stairs to get to class. The elevators would be so crowded and sometimes there wasn't time to wait for another one to show up. |
