TV Rose McIver Returns to "Once Upon a Time"

"Once Upon a Time" Casts Tinker Bell — With Whom Does She Have a Surprising Connection?
by Matt Webb Mitovich
7/25/13

ABC’s "Once Upon a Time" has cast a fairy iconic role for Season 3 — that of Tinker Bell.

New Zealand-born actress Rose McIver will play the flitting character in multiple episodes, EW.com reports.

As revealed by series cocreator Adam Horowitz at Comic-Con last weekend, the ABC drama will be “taking the [Tinker Bell] icon and putting our spin on it. How we introduce her and who she is will hopefully be surprising.

Horowitz also teased, “We’re going to find that she has a surprising connection to someone at this table” – the Comic-Con dais was populated by Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Emilie De Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, Michael Raymond-James, Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Morris — though the EP ruled out the obvious guess, Captain Hook.

"Once" opens its third season on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Keck's Exclusives: First Look at "Once Upon a Time's" Tinker Bell
Sep 2, 2013
by William Keck

ABC's "Once Upon a Time" will add a little pixie dust this season when Kiwi actress Rose McIver debuts as Peter Pan sidekick Tinker Bell in the third episode.

"Our Tink is very strong, a lot of fun and not afraid to go out and have a few shots," says executive producer Edward Kitsis. "And although her heart is usually in the right place, she is mischievous."

McIver, 25, says her "glamorous" Tink comes with a magic wand — and a mysterious past.

"Captain Hook has a history with Tink and wants to find her to help lead the team to Peter Pan's camp," says the actress, whose wings are added digitally in post-production.

Viewers will see Tinker Bell in different stages of her life, including during interactions with the Blue Fairy and the Evil Queen, says exec producer Adam Horowitz.

"Tink has gone through an evolution in our story. She begins in one place and ends in another."

"iZombie's" Rose McIver To Return as Tinker Bell on "Once Upon a Time"
by Matt Webb Mitovich
January 9, 2017

ABC’s "Once Upon a Time" will get a visit from a most uncommon “common fairy” when "iZombie‘s" Rose McIver reprises her role as Tinker Bell, TVLine has learned.

Tinker Bell was integral to Regina discovering her destiny with Robin Hood, so it only stands to reason that with Sean Maguire’s return to the show, our favorite fairy would pop back in for a visit,” "Once" creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis tell TVLine.

We’re thrilled that Rose McIver was able to join us once again.

McIver first brought Tink to life early in Season 3, as the Neverland arc kicked off, and recurred throughout that season — revealing along the way how Regina first came to learn she had a “soul mate” out there.

She is the latest alum set to return in the back half of Season 6, along with the aforementioned Maguire, JoAnna Garcia Swisher (as Ariel) and Alan Dale (as King George).
