The Good Life
The local PBS station will start airing The Good Life/Good Neighbors tomorrow night. Very much looking forward to it as I have heard praise of it on other forums, and am a fan of Larbey and Penelope Kieth.
Any fans out there? PS: I searched several ways and could not find a thread on this topic. |

Yes, I enjoyed Penelope Keith in To the Manor Born very much. And now that I have seen the first episode of this show, I have taken an immediate liking to Richard Briers. A natural opposite to Keith. Silly as it is, I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy this show.

I've watched this show on PBS in the past and also checked out the DVD's from my library. The relationships between the Good's and the Leadbetter's definitely drive both the storylines and the humor of this show! And all the actors are perfectly cast in there roles!

Have now seen the first 5 episodes and I must say, this is a very funny show. Quickly becoming one of my all time FAV Britcoms and is the one Britcom I look forward to each week end.
Probably not fair to compare with the others currently running, because I've seen them all a dozen times, but still a fact. |

Yeah OK
All I know is I cracked up when Richard Briers thumped Penelope Keith's rump and said "nice bit of thigh there Margot"! |

The series debuted in 1975! I remember watching it when I was but a wee lad.

if that's the case, an investment into the complete series is encouraged!
the late Richard Briers is brilliant in it |

Have seen all the regular season episodes now. This is a fine warm and well done show. Took an immediate liking to Richard Briers and that remains. Had already been a fan of Penelope Keith.
I would definitely recommend this show if you haven't seen it. As suggested by some Richard Briers fans, I am now in the process of downloading "Ever Decreasing Circles", where Briers and Larbey meet again. |

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. It's actually becoming quite trendy to live a more self sufficient life-style like the Good's with their wood burning stove and back yard chickens. I have to admit this is one trend I have totally embraced myself...but way before it was 'cool'. My father was a huge fan of this show and introduced it to me when I was ten years old. I thought Tom and Barbara had the right idea.
I also adored Margot and Gerry. I really need to get this series on DVD...I still have not seen every episode and would love to watch it all again.
