Smile Smart Animals

Animals are smarter and more creative than we sometimes realize.

I wish I could have gotten this on video. I just saw my cat Romeo [a tuxedo cat] do something impressive. It was funny as well. Romeo walked over to where the computer chair was downstairs. He got up on his back paws and put his front paws on the back of the chair (it has wheels). He walked backwards on his back paws until the chair was far enough out. He then jumped up on it. He wanted me to spin him in the chair. He loves to spin in the chair.

Thanks. He is fun to have around. He likes hide and seek and peek a boo, lol. He's like a small child. I used to have a area rug around the computer area downstairs. He loved to dive underneath the carpet, lol.

^ I bet he keeps you laughing with all his funny antics. Our cat is getting older so he's not as playful as he used to be, but sometimes he'll do something silly & surprise me. They are so much fun to have around.

I swear that Polly is a ventriloquist. Every so often I hear her voice, and it comes from an opposite direction that she's actually at.

Several years ago when I was living down the street from my current house, a stereo speaker in the living room had a coat on it, and she wanted to lay on top
of the speaker. Polly pushed the coat off of the speaker and then laid down on top of it.

We had a couple of cats that used to actually stretch up toward the door and put their front paws around the doorknob in an attempt to turn it!

He does. He loves games. He likes to race up the stairs. As if someone had said, On your mark, get set, go! He also likes hide and seek and peek a boo, lol.

That's cool. There are probably a few cats that can do that. I saw a video on youtube where a black and white cat unscrewed a lid of a jar and then put his paw in the jar, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZVMT-fsJQg

Cats are such great animals, I love them. That Romeo sounds like a real charmer. Family Ties Forever you're lucky to have such a great cat.

two of our animals were caught doing strange/funny things today.

my cat Jynx had a picture of our dog Roxie (who he thinks is his girlfriend - he loves to put his arm around her and give her kisses on her neck) and he was just wandering around the house carrying it around.

our new dog Polar (he's a rescue Grand Pyrenees) was getting a treat for something this morning and because all we have right now is little dog treats and he is a BIG dog, he decided he needed a BIG treat - so as soon as robyn turned around he grabbed a loaf of italian bread off the table and just walked away with it.

- one of our cats likes to jump onto the top of Robyn's office chair and tries to make it spin as fast as she can.

Glitch used to jump up and grab doorknobs and try to swing on them to turn them - he was actually able to open the lever-type handles on the doors

Sounds like everybody has entertaining cats.
I was over my sister's once on her screened in back porch sitting on a porch swing eating an ice cream bar,my habit was to eat all the chocolate coating off first and then eat the ice cream. I had just about finished with it when I heard a meow and I looked down to see one of her cats looking up at me. I held the stick down for him and he started to work on it with that sandpaper tongue of his and when I thought he was finished I started to take the stick away. He then grabbed hold of my hand with both paws and pulled the stick back to his mouth and licked some more until he was finished and then began using his paw for a washrag to clean his face. He spent more time getting the ice cream off his whiskers than he did off the stick.
