I mean it's not a bad thing to receive if you are getting $15 extra a week which is $60 extra dollars a month but the way he came home celebrating certainly didn't match the amount of his raise lol
And the fact that he had a family to take care of that little raise was not something to jump up and down about with 3 kids LOL |

It was better than receiving a pay cut, I guess. Gotta count your blessings.

Back in 73', I started my first full time job and the wage was $115 for a 36 1/2 hr work week so a $15 a week raise was a good raise. But a brand new car could be had for around $2000 and gas was 27 cents a gallon. Now a $15 a week raise would be an insult but 30 plus years ago it was a big thing.

How? I always hear them mention inflation on good times so why would a raise that small be good then and not now? |

I used a conversion calculator and the $15 raise would be the equivalent of $74 in today time. So that was a lot back in the day.

Maybe they should have had him use the monthly increase instead because 15 bucks didn't sound like ****

That seems like a little chunk of money there. Anytime there is more money in a situation regarding a job, one can get happy.
