http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/ey...-years-in-jail
By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer July 2, 2013 7:06 pm ET Former big-league player Milton Bradley has been sentenced to 960 days in jail and must perform 400 hours of community service for abusing his estranged wife. From the Associated Press: Prosecutors say Bradley threatened and attacked his wife five times in 2011 and 2012. In one incident, Bradley pushed his wife against a wall and choked her after she asked him to stop smoking marijuana in front of their children and wanted his friends to leave their home. Bradley, 35, had a 12-year career with many peaks and valleys. He never spent more than three seasons with a team -- playing for the Indians, Athletics, Dodgers, Expos, Mariners, Rangers, Padres and Cubs -- and never came close to living up to his lofty potential due to injury and anger issues. His best season came in 2008, when he was an All-Star and led the American League with a .999 OPS. He had a disaster of a season with the Cubs the following year and then hit just .209 the following two seasons for the Mariners before being essentially forced into retirement. |

What makes me sad about this is that I have the feeling he would have gotten a longer sentence if he had assaulted his dog rather than his wife.

Honestly, it doesn't shock me. I mean he was somewhat a loose cannon on the baseball field.
