I saw a very quick interview with Ted from 1992. When asked what his fav. ep was he said the S4 two-parter when they were in Las Vegas. He also said that people told him he would enjoy watching the show years later in re-runs but admitted he never did because he wouldn't watch anything he performed in.

I remember another actor saying that too that they didn't watch anything that they performed in.

I guess not wanting to watch your own work is some kind of weird actor thing. Pity though, cause Ted played the role of the devoted (and chivalrous!) bf beautifully. He added as much to the show as Marlo, and he should be very proud of his acting in That Girl. He was superb, and deserves a significant share of the credit for making it the sweet charming show it was.

From what I've read about actors and musicians, the reason they don't follow their own work is either they only see the mistakes they made or because they only remember the stress involved in recording it.

IMO , I think Ted was the type of actor who felt uncomfortable watching himself act. I don't think it had to do with stress(in his case) although he worked very long hours and was a perfectionist. Growing up he said he never really knew who he was so maybe watching himself as someone else made him feel funny. Also he supposedly never thought of acting as a "mans" job and he thought of himself more of an athlete. Maybe he would have critiqued himself. So many theories.

Had he lived I'm sure Ted would've done commentary with Marlo & Bill Persky for select episodes also been interviewed for the DVD sets.....

At Bliss...absolutely he would have joined them on the dvd. I think he was private but not overly private. He was willing to give interviews. I know some actors who didn't even want to do that, even if it was just to talk about their show. Bill Persky said Ted was an incredible human being. They shared an apartment together for a few years actually.

Thanks for that bit of trivia on Ted.

I was pleased that Marlo and even Bill took part in the extras for That Girl DVDs but it just wasn't the same without That Boy
Pity there wasn't any archive footage added of Ted talking about the show and Marlo.
