Default It was odd that the first episode of this series made no reference at all to

DEE???

You know, Raj's little sister who played on the original show LOL

Nothing was mentioned, in college or anything. Only that the mom moved to Arizona

Actually Dee was mentioned. As Raj carried Nadine across the threshold and into their new home, Nadine spotted a pic of Dee and said she looks like an angel. Raj then replied,"yeah, Hell's Angel". Lol. Also, Nadine made mention of Dee coming home from College for the holidays or something to that effect and Raj said "That reminds me, I better change the locks" and laughs!

They mentioned her briefly. I will have to watch my DVD again to get specifics but it was noted that she was in college. Someone asked about her when a picture of her was in the living room if I recalled correctly. It started out as his mother being the only one who brought all the sold copies (23 or 24) of his first book sale.

We also see that Rob's place went out of business but it was never explained why it closed or even what Shirley was doing since the closure of the restaurant. Admittedly, it was a rushed episode but Dee came back and made a cameo in a later episode. It would have been nice to have Mabel and Raj's father make a cameo for a Thanksgiving or Christmas episode. The father and his new wife were never referred to in the new series either.

It would have been great to see him come by the new restaurant. There were many characters from the original series that could have been brought back. The 1980's Sanford revival did bring back many characters for cameos.

The whole layout was completely different. It was laughable to hear Raj and the gang talk about their old table in that new layout. The new restaurant had a diner feel to it. Rob's Place was more of a boxy indie style restaurant.

I forgot that Dee didn't return for the reboot, and could be why I lacked some interest in this version, as I had a bit of a crush on Dee, or rather, a young lady I worked with in the 1980s, named Hazel. I kid you not, she looked and acted exactly like an adult version of Dee, the earlier, more sarcastic one.

Talk about nostalgia.

Okay, now I'm hooked... I have to watch some of these episodes again, which I haven't in probably thirty years.

WHN was a good show although w/ o Dee some of the time it wasn't the same. Her quick wit was hysterical.

Dee did return for the reboot, she was in quite a few episodes, and even had a thing going with Dwayne.
