Diddy is launching a music television network called Revolt TV in the fall.

The rapper announced Revolt TV reached a deal with Time Warner Cable and Comcast Corp. announced a deal with the network last year, the Associated Press reports.

The network will be specifically music-driven shows including in-depth interviews, debates with different panels on social issues. Also covering music on a global level as well as show short films by musicians who aspire to be actors.

“We’ll be going to where the pulse of music is happening and we’ll be covering it in the way ESPN will cover a sport event – with that level of urgency and seriousness,” Diddy said in an interview with Billboard.

The rapper first noticed he wanted to do something about he lack of a music network when he was almost shut out of performing on Dancing With the Stars, in 2010.

MTV was known for music television but has shifted to reality TV. MTV plays a music video every now and then, and has channels such as MTV Hits and VH1 Soul that shows music throughout the day. Diddy said MTV, “inspired me and helped with the blueprint.”

Diddy clarified he is not making Diddy TV as he did with his movies, fragrances, fashion lines and endorsements. Oprah Winfrey launched her network OWN in 2011 and warned Diddy of the difficulties included in owing a network.

“One of the things I did learn form Oprah is that this is a marathon, not a sprint,” he said.

I just want a network that plays music videos, and maybe airs the occasional "Behind the Music."
